The show"Modern marvels: Walt Disney world" that was on the history channel a few months ago, is now on dvd.

I just netflix'ed it.

I thought it was a very good show, with tons of behind the scenes shots and a look at the "top secret" tunnels under the park.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I had Tivoed that show about a month ago. It really was a GREAT show. Most amusement park related shows are pretty dull, and tend to repeat themselves but that one was sorta fascinating....

Am I the only one geeky enough to put these on DVD when they air?

(worse yet, I just admitted it :) )

Killer show. Burned it to DVD when it first aired

Gonch: I suspect I can go you one better. Having no PVR, I recorded the show on Mini-DV, dumped it into the computer, edited out the commercials, added chapter markers, masked the display, and then burned the result to a DVD.

The cool part was that the whole experience allowed me to figure out how to get iDVD 5 to handle QuickTime chapters in the process.

(hey, I was off work that week...remember, this is the show that first aired on Christmas day)

Ohhh, you still best me, but I'm close.

Sometimes I snag it with the PVR, but often run live though the mini-DV cam. Of course all commercials must be edited out which knocks the running time to between 40 and 45 minutes.

This means 3 shows can fit quite nicely onto a DVD without additional compression. 3 shows also means I need a menu!

After that it goes to DVD. I never thought of chapter markers, that's a good idea. :)

...

Yeah Matt, add me to the poll next time. ;)

I wish there was a more powerful word for "geek."
genius?
Maybe "single". :(
