Model LIM - CoasterBuzz

How could you make an LIM on a model roller coaster. I know I've seen it on one of these forums some where, I just can't find it.

I know two ways you can do it. 1)rubber bands. I dont remember how to do this one, but there is a way. 2)CO2 tanks. You attach two of them onto your car, one on each side. Then, puncture the back of them at the same time. This will launch the car down the track.

Use copper wiring and two batteries. Wrap as much copper wiring as you can around a cylinder..... such as a toilet paper roll. Use two toilet paper rolls and wrap as much copper wiring around as possible and make sure there are no gaps or spaces. The wiring has to be pressed tightly together and as thick as possible. Then attach one end of the wiring and wrap it around a powerful battery. Then attach the other end of the wire with another battery. Then make a little car. Put a magnet on the top and bottom of the car. Slide the car slowly into the cylinder and watch it fly out the other end. The more powerful the battery and the more copper wiring that you use that is wrapped tightly together..... the faster the car will shoot out.

Iain Hendry made a working model of an actual LIM when he was in the 6th grade if I'm not mistaken.

you can also use NOS tanks, just light them after you puncture them
dont do this if you cant handle a little explosion in the face though
