Mission Space Opening Date

Has anybody heard a confirmed opening date for Mission: Space? Reason I'm asking is because I'm going down there in mid-May and I'm hoping it will be open when i'm down there. The most I've heard is around Memorial Day.

Thanks a bunch

There has not as of yet been a confirmed opening date. I'm a Disney regular who is very on top of these things and have not been able to find out anything. Unfortuntely, all I've heard so far is that it might be opening in late 03' instead of the spring. I really doubt anybody can tell you anything different. Disney is very tight about these things.

Ok then, I'll just keep praying then. Thanks a bunch

supposedly around the end of summer...

go down to epcot and look for mission space and look for the date 1/05/2003

Hope this helps

No opening date but word is floating around that one of the four and possibly now two, ride systems are installed and being tested as of end of the year.

Disney spends ALOT of time testing thier rides. Most peopel will remember the 6 months of testing and tweaking on Rock & Roll and I think Test Track ran for almost 12 months before opening to the public if I recall.

Going to be a while..

June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100
VertiGo Rides - 82
Technical Services - 2002
Frightzone Screamster - 2002

you say they spent 12 months testing Test track more like 12 months tryin to get the darn thing to work! Disney always tries to be new and impressive and normally it ends up in a 99.9% downtime!

I'm only jokin. Even though there new rides have their fair share of flaws Disney does bring great experiences to life! Keep up the magic disney and don't let that money get to your head! hmmmmmm I think that last thing has already happened ;-)

Hopefully, Disney has learned their lesson after Alien Encounter and Test Track. Both were given opening dates only to be postponed again and again. I know because I flew down to Florida to ride them opening day and had to come back after they had delay after delay. As complicated an attraction as Space is, I'm sure they wont take any chances announcing until they are absolutely sure. By the way my wife and I ended up being the first two people to ever "ride" Alien Encounter.

I had heard about several systems being complete, but did not think that 5 months for Disney is normally not enough time for them. :(

Well I guess the closest I'll be getting to flying this year is Superman at SFGAd :)
