Walt Disney World is closing the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire -- Play It! game at Disney-MGM Studios in August and reportedly will replace it with a new indoor ride. The interactive game, modeled after the once immensely popular TV show, will play for the last time on Aug. 19.

IMO, the best replacement move in the area was at Universal when Revenge of the Mummy replaced the King Kong ride. King Kong had its run... but lost its thrill factor, its effects became outdated and it lost its popularity. Even though Mummy is a thrilling coaster, it is a spectacular family ride and world class effects filled dark ride all in one. I hope the new ride at MGM can bring something exciting back to the park, especially after the news of the boy killed on Rock n' Rollercoaster.
I think the general public is beginning to take to the new "laser shooting" dark rides. Now that they are popping up across the country I hope the fad doesn't die out.
