A full report on this construction can be found on This tower, apparently is going to be huge. They are developing an area around the Ohio River and the total project cost is over $1 billion. They are going to create shops, restraunts, and entertainment. Here is a little snipit from the official site:

"Targeted for the teenage audience, the Millennium Adventure will showcase cutting-edge technologies including the latest in action-packed virtual reality adventures and other state-of-the-art games and rides. Thematically linked to the Millennium Experience, the centerpiece of the Millennium Adventure will be a 'Space Shot' thrill ride located within the core of the tower structure. The thrill-seeking visitors who take this ride will be ushered by guides wearing astronaut uniforms into a Cape Canaveral-like launch pad. Then, they will be propelled up the core of the Tower at the awesome speed of 45 miles per hour. For young children, a mini 'Space Shot' will afford them the same gravitational experience on a smaller scale."
