Millennium Mania, Day 2

Associated parks:
None

Today was the most anticipated day of the summer... Millennium Mania! I was lucky enough to convince my Dad to take my brother and I, and luckily he agreed, even though MF was down.

We arrived at the park at about 2:45 and noticed there was 1/2 a row filled. What a busy day it's gonna be! :)

After we received our wristbands and free one ride coupons (for ANY ride, BTW), we headed off toward the Raptor (two trains). Got in the back seat and MM had begun!

I cannot remember what we did that day (for obvious reasons!), but here are my ride counts:

Magnum - 13, Raptor - 13, Mantis - 2, Power Tower - 3, Blue Streak - 6, Coasters Restaurant - 1, VertiGO - 1 (Cosmic Flip).

Today I went upside down 86 times in a 6-hour span! One of the employees told me that yesterday they had a turnout of about 426 people. Today, I assumed there were about that amount. Only 3-4 rows were filled. It felt really strange.. I'm used to seeing the Point being crowded.

VertiGO was AWESOME, and free of charge! One time today it did get stuck at the top. The people on it (who, luckily, did not choose the Cosmic Flip mode) were slowly (I mean SLOWLY) lowered down. I was on Magnum's lift hill when this happened.

Today was a great day... tons of rides in! My Dad said, "We'll definetly have to go next year!" I agree, Dad!

Ahh, yes! Rob can tell you about the fault. I rode VertiGo 18 times. Equaling 31 times for both days. Can't beat free rides. Rob I think is up to 71 or 72! I am addicted to this ride now!

Will Millennium Force be open on the second to the last weekend in October plus Vertigo? I will be going to Cedar Point one last time for 2001 I hope to make it a big one! I would like to get one last ride on Millennium Force!
Yes, Millennium Force and VertiGo will be open. Millennium is testing most likely as I speak. They finished installing the new cable and catchcar towards the end of the day. They were going to test it and see what happened. If all works out it will open for Saturday.

Yes, I remember the Vertigo being stuck at the top, it was while I was on the Magnum. Then I saw Vertigo re-open, so, it has virtually no line at all. I ran over to it rode it 5 more times before the night was over. I also arrived at MM 1hr late or so...got plenty of rides.
I am so glad that the MForce was down..., I would of never got the opportunity to blow through 240 bucks on a pay ride...
And of course you couldn't miss Dan in his bright orange shirt and the clicker for Maggie...lol

Nice pics!  Looks like you had the whole park to yourselves!
I was heading back towards Vertigo when it got stuck. I wish I was on it then.
Hey, apparently we all owned Magnum that day. ;) I was also riding to the top of Magnum when VertiGo got got stuck.  I remember telling someone "hey that's one of the new options. the Hang Time."  CoasterBuzz Mania more like it, eh?   Maybe it was one of you.  :)
Nice photos Chris.  You actually got a picture of me riding Raptor.  That's pretty cool. That's me in the next to last row wearing the white shirt and dark green pants.

I doubted it at first, but I was riding in that seat for 15 runs before I left and for the first 8 or so there was a guy on the other side and the two middle ones were empty and those are my New Balance shoes   Now I see there wasn't anyone in the back right, I now wonder why I wasn't sitting back there! ;)
All in all those are great pics and that was a great day of ride, re-ride, and oh yeah, more re-rides.
