Millennium Force vs. Top Thrill Dragster

Now that Top Thrill Dragster is coming, Millennium Force will no longer be the tallest or fastest coaster at Cedar Point. So, what will be the new favorite of the GP? When the park opens in the morning will the crowds (or bulls) start running towards Top Thrill Dragster? I want to know what people think will be the main attraction at Cedar Point. Will Dragster draw some of Millennium Force’s lines? Can we expect shorter lines at Millennium Force? IMO Millennium Force is the best coaster ever made and by far my favorite. But will some of its glory be taken away? Which will people like better? Is Dragster’s height and speed gonna mesmerize people even though it is considerably shorter? I know that in 2003 everyone’s gonna wanna ride Dragster, but in the long run, which will be the favorite? Besides, Cedar Point is ahead of schedule. They’re not supposed to get the tallest coaster in the world for 8 more years.

4. Unacceptable topics of discussion:
The Coasterbuzz forums are dedicated to foster the discussions of roller coasters and the amusement park industry. Sometimes topics are brought up that are not in anyway related this. These topics are deleted, because there are other places on the Internet to discuss these off-topic subjects. We don't talk about world peace or curing cancer here, we talk about coasters (unless of course the peace or cancer is related to coasters). If you choose to talk about something not related to the subject matter of the forums, there are plenty of other sites on the Internet that will satisfy your needs. Examples of other unacceptable topics are those that lack merit (a 700 foot tall coaster with 19 inversions is being built at…), topics that have been brought up numerous times in the past (Cedar Point is running out of room… Superman: the Escape is not a coaster…), constant speculation about what [your park here] is going to get next year, questions that have no real answers (what are crowds like at... what will that park build...) and threads that contain best... favorite... top 10... worst... versus... most... are simply not interesting to read by anyone other than the person who started the topic. Don’t be surprised if these get closed or deleted as well. If your topic has any word ending in "-est," think twice about posting it. We also dislike anything along the lines of "first post" or an announcement about the number of posts you've made. It's not the quantity, it's the quality that counts.

I hope these perpetual threads on vs. type topics aren't a sign of the apocalypse. I also pray that you folks won't overdo the pancake reference. ;)

Overdo the pancake reference? We're just begining to explore the creative possibilities! You must have missed that troll yesterday who ended up putting on a really lame act pretending to be french Canadian, so I said "Aimez-vous les Crêpes?" (Playa later said to him "Vous êtes un morceau rasant de crap de chien")

Guess I was too caught up the last couple days, must have missed out on some fun. Even with the few months of French I had in the sixth grade (a LONG time ago), I can read that stuff...

bill, *starting* to think you may need to pass a small test proving you've read the TOS before you should be allowed to post....but they ARE good starters for nice discussions like this...

P.S. The bandwagon is starting to fill up, buy your Bucs merchandise NOW...

I want to answer this question - sorry, I just can't help myself...

I'm heading straight up to Millennium Force. While the people who don't understand TTD isn't going anywhere for a while are rushing up to get in line, I'll be in the front seat of MF!

PS - That guy, "Inedible Hilk" will be back at around 9:00 tonight as he does every night to post another frutrated outburst to see if he can piss us off. Ya won't want to miss it! Be sure to tune in.

I don't know what all the squabble is about here. I think peanut butter's question is entirely valid, is not a "versus" topic at all once you get past the title, and it does, in fact, pose an interesting question. I don't understand why people who aren't moderators pretend that they are - if you are that interested in quoting rules and enforcing them, maybe you can contact the webmaster. He might want to give you a job. I don't think quoting rules is going to earn you any brownie points, and frankly, people who try are my least favorite on Coasterbuzz. But enough of that.

To answer the topic introduced, you could argue that TTD will draw more of a crowd to the point, making lines for both MF and TTD equally long. While it probably won't be that simple, and I'm sure Cedar Point would love to see that kind of attendance increase, that's probably not an entirely accurate estimation of the kind of crowd that TTD will draw. Alternatively, you could argue that some of the draw will be taken away from MF, but if you look at Raptor, a coaster introduced in 1994, you'll often see very long lines for the attraction during select times of the day and season. It's a damn good inverted coaster, and people aren't going to "not ride" just because there's something bigger and faster in the park. The shortest lines on Raptor often come at the end of the day, and maybe this will be something that we'll see with regard to Millennium Force's lines. Who knows? We'll just have to wait until the season is over to see.

Wow! 8 questions in one post. Here are mine:

Have you read the TOS? Are you bored? How would anyone know the answers to your questions? Will you be posting any more dumb questions anytime soon? Why don't you just wait and see what happens when CP opens? Tallest coaster in 8 years? Where did you get that garbage?

Can the Bucs hold on and win?????????

Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!

I strongly agree with your moderator wannabes statement, ophthodoc. It's so hard to speak your mind on these boards without someone jumping on your toes about TOS.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, TTD IS NOT EVEN COMPLETED YET. Just let time tell. I'm sure both MF and TTD will have long lines. Sorry about the yelling, but all this talk about TTD is getting old.

the thrill 2 ; to answer your questions
yes/ no/ there's no answer, just wonderin opninions/ maybe/ i didn't want to see what happens, i just wanted to know which might be people's fav/ tallest coaster in 8 years, yes thats right. they've built the tallest coaster every 11 years so far. (1978, 1989, 2000) 2011 should've been next. do the math. i think its great that they're building another tall coaster. i'm just wondering what people are thinking about the new coaster. and i'm sorry i dont have the TOS memorized.

I think the TOS referes to discussions that are no more than, "ghgfg suck's" and, "ffjgfj is much better". In this topic I see much more to talk about and more importantly, I find it interesting.

For instance, I think the disscussion 'the thrill 2' may be proposing between the Bucs and the Eagles could really be considered pointless beyond which team has a better eyepoking linemen.

But none the less, Go Bucs!

I agree with jkpark! TTD conversations are getting old! I can't even go to the site anymore w/o reading anything about it.
