Millenium Force/Coastermania

If you say so. All I report, is what I'm told.
About how many coaster clubs are coming to Coastermania????

I'm sure you'll get a large ACE contingency, and the Great Ohio Club will surely be there (only a few hundred there). Expect several thousand total, that's what the marketing folk expect.

It doesn't sound as bad as I thought.
Don't forget that the park will be open to the general public during normal operating hours.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
Yeah, I know that. That is who I am.
True, but the ERT's are only open to CoasterMania attendees. Still, several thousand descending on Millennium Force for "exclusive ride time" will result in a pretty long wait...

Yeah but the ERT is before the park opens to the public. Are you saying that the line will be full by the time evrybody else gets in the park?
I will also be at CoasterMania. But i will not be riding Millennium Force for the ERT. Raptor is open for ERT the same time Millennium Force is. So i am just gonna ride Raptor as many times as i can and save Millennium Force for later. Because i bet everyone will go straight to MF and the Raptor line should be short.

I am also going. I am going to hit Raptor for about the first 1 and a half of ert then get in line for MF.
That was pretty much my plan as well -- hit Raptor at the beginning of the ERT, and MF later.

Craig -- my comment was just that even during the ERT, the park will be fairly "crowded". ONLY the ERT rides will be running during those times, so the CoasterMania attendees will all be in those lines, resulting in a wait anyway.

I think what Greg is getting at is that ERT isn't really ERT when there are thousands of people involved!

Ah, for the good ole days when there would be only a few hundred people there. *** This post was edited by Tim on 5/27/2000. ***
But the ERT is before the park opens.

Who cares? If it's two hours of ERT and there are 3,500 enthusiasts entitled to it, how many rides do you think you're going to get? It's not like small group ERT where you can do a dozen laps by just trading places with the people on the platform.

Jeff -- yup, that was my point. This is nothing like a media day, or Kennywood's Preview day...

Now, I AM still going. Why? Because you get a LOT of TIME in the park. We'll still get a fair amount of riding in there... And then there's the free lunch :-)

Last year during AM ERT time I got 7 Raptor laps in and 4 Mantis in before the gates opened to the public and the gp came in and crammed up the lines. During PM ERT I got 1 MS ride in (didnt want to do more than that) and 5 Magnum runs in before park closed to all at 1am. There will be a wait and I am anticipating a longer wait for MF than my beloved Raptor. Keep in mind alot of out of town enthusiasts come to CP ONLY for Coastermania and with MF this year being the biggest of the big and the bestest of the best...well-you figure it out
During the day the park gets PACKED thanks to some school stuff going on still-around 5pm the school kinds/groups/various organizations usually clear out but by NO means do things get slow. During PM ERT time last year each run on Magnum was still an hour wait.
Yes the lunch is free but be prepared to remove a bunch of uninvited "guests" from the food...
the muffleheads will be in FULL force this year as in years past
not good eating
and not good squishing when you're going 92mph!
I'll be at Coastermania again this year
already have 39 MF laps in--
want at least 45 by Friday night
(Raptor will just have to wait)

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight?
Will the lines already be full by the time the gp gets there?
Hi,

I just returned from coaster mania 2000.
What a blast. I arrived at 6:30 so I was not among the first in line. Many people who arrived first were able to get 3 rides on MF during ERT. I got 2!! The first was a 1 hour wait (mostly due to a delay moving from 2 trains to 3 ... i think)
The 2nd ride only took 45 minute wait. They had 3 trains running smoothly.

I think they solved the 3 train problem by getting people in their seats quickly and out of the station.

Basically they only let enough people in the station to fill the train. Thus you don't have people stalling or looking for people to cut in front so you can ride with a friend who is in the seat behind you. It kind of sucks because you don't always get your pick of seats... but every seat on this ride is great! They ran 3 trains all day long. The average wait was about 2 hours, but we got on around 6pm with only 1 hour wait.

(only about half of the large cue section was full)

i had a great time .... my first CoasterMania --- not gonna be my last!!!
Yup. I was there too. I was not at the ERT, but I waited an hour and 2 hours. We awere always movign except for the times they were changing from two trains to three. AMAZING!!
