Ok here is my logic. A giga coaster is a coaster that is 300 feet tall
or has a three hundred-foot drop. If these rules don't apply then Magnum isn't a hyper (196ft).
The first coaster in the US was a giga! The Mauch Chunk Railway, built in 1827, was atleast 6 miles long and dropped 60 feet per mile. That equals at least a 360 ft. drop. There were no hills on this coaster, just staight down at a blistering 1.5 percent angle. There were curves but those went downnhill too.
You may say that this isn't a coaster, but in 1845 a cable was added to hoist empty cars to the top and it was renamed the Mauch Chunk Switchback. People would come from miles to ride it.
Since it ran special cars for people it is definatly America's first coaster and America' first Giga! -------------
