MidwestInfoGuide posts BuzzSaw Falls removal photos

Posted | Contributed by Swoosh

Midwest Information Guide has posted new photos of the deconstruction of BuzzSaw Falls at Silver Dollar City. The ride is being removed to make room for their 2005 project, which is said to be a "Blast in the Wilderness." BuzzSaw Falls was the first hybrid coaster of its type in the US, combining rollercoaster with rapids ride technology.

I thought we had - and wouldn't it be plagerism if we posted the info here? ;)

Not if you summarized the info and put it in your own words. Plagiarism is copying someone else's work and claiming it as though it was your own.

Basicly as I understand it the ride will be a S&S Thrust Air coaster that will launch into the woods of the Ozarks. And will have a purported 200 foot drop into a lake/water effect at the end. But still at the same time be a "family" launched coaster. But all of this is derived from all the scrambled information that I have seen. So this may not really be what they get.

Obviously I dont get First Drop but want to get this one bad. Thought i would just have a little fun with the facts and the rumors.

All right, for those who HAVE TO HAVE INFO NOW...seriously people is it THAT hard to do a little searching on the web?

"So instead of this nah-nah-nah nonsense why don't you just say it instead?"

I have, Jeff, in the other Buzzsaw threads. According to First Drop it's an S&S Family Air-Thurst coaster, 50 MPH launch, no inversions, no "top hat," just turns and hills. If the layout in First Drop is correct this will NOT have anthing near a 200 foot drop. But First Drop is not always correct.

If maintance is the issue that Buzzsaw was pulled, then it makes no sense to put in a Thrust Air considering what PKD has gone through. But perhaps with the water splashdown comes significant design changes as well that will mitigate those issues.

It will be interesting. I didn't find PKD's very smooth, or even all that fun. But I'm looking forward to seeing what else they can do with the concept.

As always remember that First Drop is not 100% accurate. I would even go as far to say that they may be 10% more accurate than Screamscape - and we ALL know how accurate Lance is. Just think of it this way, First Drop has had to eat a lot of crow in their quest to be "first with the news." I personally think that it is better to be "accurate" then "first," but ECC and Lance Hart seem to think otherwise.
