Midwest posts more photos of Cedar Point construction

As a wise man once said, "There are three best-kept secrets in the amusement park industry: 1) What time does Kennywood close tonight? 2) What is Tomb Raider going to be? and 3) What is Cedar Point putting in next year?" Well, it's time to start asking number three ad nauseum. For starters, the aquarium is coming down. Secondly, there is a series of footers on the beach not too far from the Giant Wheel. What are they doing for next year? It's a little to early to say.

Hypermaniac:  Acro didn't mean a coaster that LOOKS like Cali Screamin, he simply meant that Cali is a sit-down launched Intamin.  Then he asked why would KBF put something similar in when there's one just down the street?

The Knott's coaster is supposed to resemble MF although nowhere near the height and length.  However I do agree with you that a coaster that LOOKS like Cali Screamin *would* look pretty sweet on the lakeside.  It would be the perfect blend of old-time CP looks and modern thrills.

Actually I meant both!
Wait, it would be what everyone wants, "woodie" by the lake, a launched or impulse coaster, sit down looper, and it fits in with the guidelines.  I think we have yet another idea!

I just want the frontier carousel back
I remember when SFMM made the announcement of building 3 coasters to take the world record, Cedar Point was rumored to build two for 2002 to take the record back. Now, alot of the common rumors have been "Intamin", "launched", and "based on an existing design, just bigger and better". Dodgem is going to Michigan Adventure, and Troika and Chaos are being moved. That would make plenty of room for an Intamin Impulse. The footers on the beach might be for something completely different. Here is a way out thought that would totally surprise everyone: a B&M vertical coaster similar to Oblivion. Another idea is an Intamin coaster similar to Superman TE at SFMM. That would make more sense looking at how the footers are lined up with two very large ones at the end.
