Midwest Coasters

Hey, my spring break starts on the 18th of April and ends on the 27th, I live in SouthernWisconsin and I was wondering what parks will be open that are in driving distance and worth the hike. Thanks in Advance...

I started making a list of possible parks.. Worlds of Fun, Dollywood, Adventureland USA, S.F. Frontier City, Fun Spot, Silver Dollar City... Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Why not look on their websites to see it they are open??

I checked most of them: I know Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, and Adventurland USA should be open, however I did have trouble opening Fronitier City's schedule page.

Worlds of Fun and SDC will both be open. SFStl should be open. I do know that Celebration City will not be open, it opens on May 1. How far are you willing to go?
I have already been to SF St.Louis, KK, and WOA. I am willing to drive up to around 800 miles away from home (Milwaukee).

800 miles?

Well , how about PKI? They will be open at that time.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

Ever Been to PKI? I think that would be a great visit for you to get on about 10 good coasters and great flat rides. Your sig throws me off a little, but I think PKI is within 800 miles.

What about Holiday World, arent they open?

I don't care what anyone says, Magnum is better then Millenium Force.

Holiday World's opening day is May 3...with daily operation for both parks starting May 17.

Thanks for thinking of us! Paula

What parks are good choices of the ones I have posted. Opinions, with reasons are appreciated. Parks I have been to:
SF Great America, Big Chief, Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas, SF ST. Louis, SF Worlds of Adventure, SF Kentucky Kingdom, SF Over Georgia, Cedar Point, Paramount's Kings Island, Indiana Beach, Holiday World, Kennywood, Lakemont, and soon to add more...

If you're going to do the Oklahoma parks, you may be able to head up to Colorado for a couple of pretty good woodies.

Silver Dollar City is more of a summer/fall park... but my opinion is changing... WILDFIRE

Here is our tentative schedule for the same time period. We're leaving from Chicago, so the trip would only be a litttle bit longer for you.

Thursday 4/17 Drive to Hershey, PA

Friday 4/18 Hersheypark

Saturday 4/19 SFA

Sunday 4/20 PKD

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4/21-23 BGW & Colonial Williamburg

Thursday 4/24 SFGAdv

Friday 4/25 SFNE

Saturday 4/26 Knoebels or Kennywood

Sunday 4/27 Drive home

Yeah, it's a lot of driving, but IMO worth it. The hard part is finding parks that are open weekdays during the last week of April. Have a great time wherever you go.

Adventureland - 4/26-27
