michigans largest park??

I think michigans adventure is great. But they claim to be the largest park in michigan.

After looking in the park data base, I found that they are the only amusement park in michigan. So insted of saying that they are the largest park in michigan, shouldent they advertise that they are the only park in michigan?

They aren't the only park. There are quite a few smaller theme parks around the state. None have coasters however other then maybe a kiddie at Stagecoach Stop. Regardless they are not the only park in the state.

Crazy,

It is all a matter of perspective. Michigans adventure is not the only "amusement" park in Michigan. However, Every other currently operating amusement park is much to small to be put into any database. In fact, I believe Michigan's adventure is the only park in michigan to have operating roller coasters. (jeepers not included).

Parks come and Go as the years pass, Edgewater and Walled Lake Amusement Park are proof of this. In all fairness, It is much easier for Michigan's Adventure to claim to be the largest. Even if another decently sized park opened, They could still be the largest. They certainly would not be the only park though.

Let's not forget Boblo. Even though it really was in Canada, it was always considered a Detroit park.
Hahah...yeah, at one point they were like "The 6 tallest coasters in Michigan!" and I'm like...real competition. Eh, anything that works I guess :)

Deer Forest in coloma is a VERY small park/zoo with 1 VERY small coaster that is like a dragon wagon type coaster from the 60's that is only about 10 ft tall. It doesn't even have a name.

I know MI Adventure hasn't been the only park though; Silver Beach in St. Joseph had one coaster called the commet that was designed by John Miller. It closed down late 60's however.

Yea, but the parks that have been mentiond above, are all parks that are for birthday parties, etc. And are only rented out, and not open to the public on a day to day basis. The rest of the parks mentiond are all closed. So technicly(sp) michigans adventure is the only real amusement park in michigan.
Depends upon what your definition of 'amusement park' is ;)

If you want to argue semantics, the go after SFGAm...They (in their new radio ad) claim to be the "Best Park in the Midwest"... Last time I checked, Ohio is part of the midwest...I think they are looking at a vastly different set of maps...

And your point about Ohio being in the midwest is? Are you trying to imply that something in Ohio is better than SFGAm? ;-)
IBSteve...now what EVER gave you THAT impression???

Stage Coach Stop USA could technically be considered an amusement park. There are a few kiddie rides, including a small roller coaster, and there are live shows acted out throughout the day. It does amuse people so it's an amusment park.

If you don't like the ride shut up and get out of line.

Dan...is that a park in the Irish Hills?? On the same strip that Mystery House and Prehistoric Forest is? Speaking of Perhistoric Forest, I seem to recall they had a little roller coaster at one time.

Yeah CP Lady, in the Irish Hills. I live 10 miles away and have never been there.

Go figure. Prehistoric forest is now closed BTW.
