Michigan's Adventure: Fun2

I stopped by MIA yesterday and I got to see the new advertising promos that CF had sketched up.  The new slogan is Fun Squared, referring to the amusement and water park combination.  What do you think?
Maybe they'll come up with a better catch song!  We can only hope...

Hopefully they do come up with a better catch song.

I'm sure us Michiganders will find out in the near future.

I visited the park last year, it needs a major overhaul. It's a little kids park. ST is awesome but thats about it. Hope CF fixes it up nice!
I wasn't a big fan of Cedar Point's "Hold On" slogan last year, but some of the commercials were decent.  At least they were all rides at Cedar Point! :)

Fun Squared?  It seems a bit...un-self-explanatory.  I'd probably have figured out what they were talking about without someone explaining it to me, but "Fun Squared" just seems a bit....wtf?-ish if you know what i mean.

If the shoe fits, find another one.
Sounds uncreative, but I guess I could see how it could "fly by."  I'd like to see who comes up with these slogans and how much they get payed for it!

Doesnt Ioa have a theme park cubed? Whats up wit this algebra stuff?

In my professional, popular High School kid opinion, that's just plain ol' nerdy. Last time I checked, it was a bad thing to be called square. Plus having a math element to a slogan, to me anyway, requires too much thought.

No...it's a small amusement park with a very good waterpark.  If you don't like slides, wavepools and tubes, that's your problem.

I visited MA the day after front-row rides on Raptor, Mantis and MF and thoroughly enjoyed myself.  MA will never be another CP and it should never try to be.

The Amazement Park! Oh wait....

I dunno Kara, the park isn't a square unless they alter Timbers or fill in that huge field!

Well Arrow Guy, wouldn't that make it a rectangle then? :)

Fun Squared?!  So the length of the park is fun?  Making the perimeter four fun?

So I guess that would make the first derivative "2 fun dfun/dx".  And the antiderivative would be 1/3 fun cubed.  I'm not even gonna touch integral calculus.

Good thing the park is two-dimensional...I would hate to have to worry about volume (fun cubed) and surface area (6 fun squared).

As for IoA, it's actually a theme park squared.  So it's perimeter is 4 theme park, it's first derivative is "2 theme park dtheme park/dx", and so on and so on.

See, kids!  Math is fun!

In all seriousness (me?  serious?  ha!), that slogan is pretty WTF-ish.  Like, where exactly did they pull this from?  (Don't answer that.)  It's kinda like A&P..."We're Fresh Obsessed."  Where the hell did THAT come from?  Seems awfully fishy to me.

See, that's why I'm a big Six Flags fan...we don't kill the slogans or theme songs, we just kill the actual park...the rest seems to take care of itself.

And yes, if "fun squared" is making someone a but load of money, I'm totally heading for the wrong field.  Maybe a career in advertising could be more beneficial than being a teacher or a mathematician.

Or, I daresay...PUBLIC RELATIONS?!  Now THAT'S a scary thought:

"Today, Michigan's Adventure isn't just fun...it's fun squared!"

Wow...I'd HATE to have that job.

Sorry for all the randomness...it's been a long night...Kara made me do it!!!  ADMIT IT!!  Hahahaha!!!

(BTW, though it may seem otherwise, I assure you I'm NOT a crackhead...)

They need to keep the idea, but make it work. Fun squared... it's got possibilities, but they need to focus and build on it.

I should mail them some ideas since I work in advertising
