A state agency in Michigan is prepared to release its findings on the accident at Michigan's Adventure that caused the Chaos ride to seperate from the moving arm that supports the rotating portion of the ride. Potential lawsuits may rest on what the state has to say.

Fortunatly, everything is mostly okay with the victims. The one 41-year old victim has declined whether or not he will sue, but if they don't see enough of a settlement, then I can really see a lawsuit happening. I assume there will be more mental trauma than anything.

These passengers do have a right to press charges, I believe, it was a mechanical faliure.

Unfortunatly, with the info on lower attendence at the old Cedar Fair parks that was released recently, and now the final word on the accident at MIA, I can only see Cedar Fair stock seeing a slight tumble.

It should still be a good summer for them, though. Gas prices are low, and people are beginning to travel again.

Who is Brian Witherow?? LOL :)

Stock isn't going to be affected by this accident. Heck, it went up when it happened. FUN is down a little today, but within the scope of activity in the past few months. In fact, in the last six months Cedar Fair had been climbing while Six Flags keeps on falling.

when this happened was cedar fair in control of the park.  If not, who would they sue???
Cedar Fair owned the park. To reenforce whaJeff said about the stocks:

Burtchett and his son, Ryan, who recently turned 14, were riding together when the ride flew apart.

Flew apart? I thought it was a collapse. Sensational journalism for ya...

"How YOU Doin'?" ;)

Well let's see, the wheel went rolling off one way while the base remained securely grounded. The ride ended up in two separate parts. Flew apart seems pretty accurate to me.

Didn't Chance already release a statement that said it wasn't their fault?????????

Yeah, "not my fault" doesn't shed anyone of responsibility for anything.

Of coarse it was "somebody's" fault.  You think Chance is going to come right out and say it's their fault? No. Same thing with Michicgan's Adventure. It's nobody's fault until they can prove who's fault it is,if's its Maitanance's fault, or Chance's fault. If it's Chance's fault then it's just a matter of time til we see other Chaos accidents. I bet it is a maitanance issue. I mean why aren't the other parks that have this ride having problems? Or better yet why aren't they being reported? I bet once the issues are brought to light there will be a lawsuit  unlike we have ever seen, unless of course there is a settlement.
