wow...it is amazing how rude some of you are!! Thanks for saying "It's always been a crappy amusement park" and "the jourdons didnt have the money to get there coasters retracked professionaly". It helps us remember why we sold!!
Ok, you are?? "In the know"? Don't think so.....
Why do you act like you are a Jourdan? Well I guess it doesn't matter if you are or not. CF owns the little park once known at Deer Park Funland. After CF spends the money in the infrastructure that is so much needed you will never recognize "your little park".
And I really think you guys overestimate the amount that the park has actually been corporatized. Yeah, there have been many much-needed improvements and changes from the park since 2001, but it is still the small park we grew up with.
Many, if not all, of the managers have been around for years and years prior to the purchase. I mean, there were so many instances this summer where I was like "Whoa, this would never happen at Cedar Point...awesome!" And in a good way, of course. Things like Camille coming in on a Sunday morning before church to unlock and heading out to the parking lot to start picking up trash because the sweeper broke down- for an hour and a half literally in her "Sunday best." Or her sitting on the steps up to her office signing checks to mail out.
All of the employees know her on a first name basis because she is constantly everywhere in the park...she'd even do ride nights with us. I could go on and on. I absolutely loved working at Cedar Point, but I never would have seen things like these occur on a daily basis. And I really think that's how it should be, as Michigan's Adventure certainly targets a different audience than Cedar Point.
Things have been improved with CF policies and funding, but it's still very much the same place I grew up. And that's why, after working 2 years at CP, this summer completely took me by suprise and I'm more in love with the place than ever (as if you couldn't tell, right ;)).
She was so genuinely nice and welcoming and that alone will bring me back to MIA.

What's that stench? Another Lost Cause Crusade?
Oh, come on. Do it. Do it.
Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it.
I mean, has something like 'common sense' ever stopped you before?
