Michelin awards first star to a Walt Disney World restaurant: Victoria and Albert's

Walt Disney World’s Victoria & Albert’s restaurant, at the theme park’s Grand Floridian Resort, made history last week when it was awarded a Michelin Star. The fine dining destination is the first and only restaurant owned and operated by a U.S. theme park to hold the prestigious honor, according to Disney Parks Blog.

“Forks” from the second season is hands down my favorite episode of any show I’ve watched.

Yeah, incredible, and my fav as well. Made even better by immediately following "Fishes", which, while one of the greatest episodes of a show ever in terms of direction (absolute chaos) and of course acting, was one of the most stress inducing things on TV I've ever experienced.

How many people have been to a Michelin rated restaurant?

I have been to several with one star, and I think two different twos. I've yet to break the seal on a three. And yes, there are very few cities in the US that Michelin even attempts to cover. But it's also the case that large swaths of the US doesn't quite 'get it' generally when it comes to dining-as-an-experience.

ProTip: the "bib gourmand" rating is my sweet spot in their system. Casual and relaxed, generally inexpensive (relatively speaking), and very good food. It's not the production that a be-starred place provides, but just a great meal.

I put them in the same category as every other chain restaurant. Avoid and find something local.

Exception: Burger King at 3am when drinking has been involved.
