A two-part question :
Even though the reason for the accident has not been released, and this hasen't been in the news lately, Are there any locals who have gone up there to the park and seen the damage, or heard more about the people involved in the accident. The news has been next to nothing in this area, and I have been concerned.
So, How bad is the rides condition and its riders?
And, has Cedar Fair opened the ones at the Point and ValleyFair, yet?
I hate the Chaos rides...I rode the one at CP...I hope they take them all out, terrible rides...Put in something nice and fun...

Millennium Force: The Future's Riding On It
If you go on the log ride, you can look right down on the wreckage. The immediate day after the accident it was still in the upright position with the plywood fence, and a tarp over the bottom half. That day from the log ride you could see that all of the cars were gutted, no harnesses or metal bars. Also, in the corner were a whole bunch of pieces of sheared off fiberglass in all the different colors. The next two days I went, they had laid it down. The tarp was off, which exposed some very gnarled cars, however most of the restraints were back on, so maybe they have to ship it away or something. Always a lot of mechanics over there, and everything else is pretty much hush hush. It really makes me wonder why they are putting the restraints back on though.

Life is a roller coaster...enjoy the ride!
Who do you suppose has the jurisdiction over what happens to this ride, MA management or the gods over at Cedar Fair?

In a related note, I went to SCBB on Saturday evening and they had their Chaos running, and running great I might add. What a rush! Great ride imo. Anyways, I was really surprised to see it running, seeing as how the accident at Michigans Adventure just recently happened. Just thought I would share that tidbit of information with everyone. :)
This may sound dumb, but what is SCBB??
Anyway, there's a Chaos over at Martin's Fantasy Island, and they did a short segment on the channel 4 news about that chaos!! my supervisor was like "Everyone better be at their top form today!!" My friend who runs the Chaos was hoping to get on TV; his left arm did :p

Over at GTTP, it was mentioned that it is all boarded up still at MIA. As for who has the jurisdiction about what happens to it, I know that Cedar Fair typically likes to let the parks handle themselves, but I think this is too big of an incident, and the parent corporation will be quite involved in whatever happens to the ride, not only at MIA but also at the other Cedar Fair parks that have a Chaos installation.
As far as I know, the one at CP is still closed, "indefinately."

That was me over at GTTP who said that CrystalKat.
The ride area is boarded up with plywood which stands about 20 feet high. The ride is sitting in the loading position(laying flat). The sidewalk/parking lot behind the ride is all torn up from cranes moving in and out.
Its funny... I was on vacation last week and didn't know that anything happened. Then I went to Michigan Adventures. Chaos was boarded up and all... I first thought they were adding it then I heard people talking about a car flying off... I was thinking yeah right. I came home today and logged on to CoasterBuzz and everyone is talking about Chaos.

Thanks all, this has been a big help. Is there still no word on the injured?
I have a funny Picture with Chaos at CP coverd with cobwebs already.
This I find comical.
http://www.miadventure.com/frame.htm Click on ride info. Read about Chaos... funny I must say. Very accurate description of it's current state.

Exactly. :) I just read that CP has their Chaos running.
Since it has been a few days since I posted this, I of course am still curious on the status of the Choas...
So, as of 8/15 at 7:25 pm , what is going on now? Any new LOCAL news on the injured?
I just looked at MA website and Chaos isn't listed anymore...I could've missed it but i searched and everything. Hmmmmmmmm?!?
Seth
Wow.....thats kinda spooky.
The Chaos at SFGAdventure was running on Sunday, 8/12.
According to the latest issue of Amusement Business, the MA Chaos is being dissected by technicians from Chance,Cedar Fair and the state of Michigan. There were thirty-three riders, two of which signed off(refused to go to the hospital)the rest were hospitalized. Twenty-eight were treated for minor injuries and released. Three were admited for further treatment, the last being released by August 2nd.
For those who can't find it, the Chaos description on the MIA page was: "Unexplainable!". Apparently they took it off the ride list page. I found it cached on Google, though.
