Where Kara? I was there a month ago and it wasn't there yet. Still had to walk through Snoopy Boutique to get to the one behind the blaring horns of the kiddy rides.

And Playa I would have said a Morgan, but man Timbers is basically the same thing. I would suppose an already built B and M design would be abou the same price as a Morgan.

But its fruitless anyway. The attendance just doesn't seem like it would do any good.

I guess you have to start somewhere though, and if they want to put the park in the class of the other tier 3 CF parks, (yes I said 3) they need to add something.

I was just thinking what they could add for under 10 mill. Answers would be a woodie, an S and S tower , an impulse, a Morgan hyper, an SLC, a boomerang, or a small B and M invert (I think Batman's run about 9 Mill).

Realistically the woodie is out as wood is already covered at MIA, an S and S tower is a good possibility but it wouldn't bring in the peeps, an Impulse is a good possibility and very popular, a Morgan is possible but like I said Timber's already has that covered, an SLC is pretty well out as CP has never added anything like that except for whats next in my list, Boomerang well CF put one in at VF so I guess weirder things have happened. Finally a small B and M invert which would surely bring in the peeps.

What MIA really needs to do in my opinion is add restaurants and a Camp Snoopy while they try to get the tourists that flock to the west coast to take a day at MIA. A campground would be great and popular as it would give an alternative to Muskegon State park up the road which ALWAYS fills up.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers.

I agree, we need a campground!

AND a new ride.

Kara,

Will you shoot the park during the winter again and give us updates? I would love to watch the progress through the winter.

ahhh...why am I asking. Does a bear ...t in the woods?

I look forward to watching the progress.

There is an entrance bathroom at MiA. It's outside the gate, in the front building. It's terribly inadequate. Apparently, the women's restroom is worse than the men's. I say this because back in August when I went to MiA the first thing I did was go to the bathroom. I drank a 44oz coke on the way from Lansing. Imagine my surprise when I opened the door and a half dressed women jump off the toilet seat. Was she surprised to see me! Anyways, the woman should have used the lock.

CPlaya, I hear what your saying about the Master Blaster, however, the water park all ready way outclasses the rest of the park. I would imagine that the water park portion needs the least amount of attention. Especially with the addition of the new slides, the new restroom and the new snackbar.

while there on Sunday, my co-worker and his wife were asked to take a survey. One of the questions asked was "would you be interested in a Camp Snoopy here at Michigan's Adventure". Of course with Kara and I standing there in the background shaking our heads (and the fact that my co-worker has no children) his answer was no. But I wouldn't be surprised if CF decides to cater more to families than the enthusiasts. It's a tough call considering there are a LOT of families who vacation in the area.

Then again, I have yet to convince my 16 year old son to go to MiA, and my husband says he'll return when they put some larger rides in. To a non-enthusiast, everything can be done in a couple of hours, unless they take advantage of the waterpark. Why drive a couple of hours to a waterpark when most of us can find one closer to home?

It's a great park, and there have been improvements. But, personally, I don't think many people are going to make a special trip to MiA unless they have more to offer than ST and a waterpark.

CP Lady - I couldn't agree more. Bringing in families will bring in more money, and that money will eventually pay for a new coaster or rides.

Its not rocket science. Other parks, primarily the Paramount parks, Busch, and Holiday World, have discovered that catering to families and *still* offering thrills is the way to go. Six Flags can continue to cater to teens and might get them a lot of bodies thru the gates but they don't spend as much money as families once inside the park. That's one of the reasons why I believe SF is in trouble [believe me, there are many other reasons as well].
