MIA Opening - We have been Cedar Fair-ized *PICS*

Associated parks:
None

I realy dont agree on why Cedar Fair would close, Micigans Adventure. At least have the rollercoasters closed and have the flat rides open. Not a smart decession. I do know the weather has been horrible at some Cedar Fair parks latley.

I was at Valleyfair on Opening Day, May 11th it was raining, cold in the same scenerio like Michigan expect it was in the low 40's. The park was real slow and almost empty that day and everything was pretty much 100% open.

Great TR, I can't wait for TimbersFest now. Also CF most of got a good deal on pastel paint by the looks of Corkscrew, Bumper Cars, and Be Bop Blvd. Everything though looks good and much improved. Only 21 days till TimbersFest.

I don't really know what you mean when you said she contacted Cedar Fair. I know as far as Cedar Fair goes, the GMs of the individual parks have a whole lot of control over everything that goes on there. It would definitely surprise me if she called up Mr. Kinzel and he said, close the park. I would imagine Camille is pretty much top dog at MIA (like Dan Keller at CP and Jack Falfas at Knotts, John Albino at Dorney, etc) so I'd say she played a major role in the decision. Kinzel most likely plays a big role at CP becuase he lives there, but from what I know, the GMs run their own parks.

Cedar Point didn't ever close early until last year when Dan Keller became GM. Also, they never had flexible gate opening times. I'm sure if Dick Kinzel says do something or don't do something, it gets done, but GMs do have a lot of power in the corporate structure of Cedar Fair.

Hydroblaster opened today. Very impressive...I love the fact that you don't have to carry the rafts up. It's a great addition, and it will be great to hit up in summer :). I'll have pics of it sooner or later.

STChick: Does Hydroblaster look as the same as the one at Valleyfair or is it different?

When I thought Cedar Fair couldn't top the paint scheme they made with Mantis, then they come out with this, great job on Corkscrew!!!

That's good news on Hydroblastter, I hate carying tubes(especially large tubes, such as mamoth river ones)

Also Ripcord open to the public today!!! Its like the best ride there but not better than shivering timbers,

If it is the same as Hydroblaster @ VF, then it rocks. I almost didn't ride it, but it is a lot cooler ride than you would imagine. And you don't get that wet, in case you are not the water ride type.

Actually, I just looked at the pics, and I don't think it is exactly the same as VF's Hydroblaster. I think VF's is more twisted, as I remember more turns than the MIA pics show. Of course, it has been since August that I saw VF's Hydroblaster, so I could easily be wrong.

All be shocked...

Be Bop Blvd opened today!!!
Still some minor glitches, but its about time. Three years in construction is too much! It's a nice little ride, but it'll be cool once they get the radio working :).

Wow!! Didn't expect to here that. It's good to no that space is no longer an ongoing construction site, can't wait to see it in action next time I go, which I hope is soon!!!!!!!!
