MIA announces '03 "improvements"

There was a brief story in the local paper today, but not big enough to make it online; however, I thought some of you might want to know, so here's the lowdown:

"Timbertown Railway, a themed train ride that debuted in 2002, gets an upgrade as riders enter an old mine made more real with sound systems, landscaping and other fun. BeBop Boulebard, also new, is a car trip past Michigan vistas to the sound of '50s' tunes, ending at a new '50s-style service station..." "...There also are new restrooms and an expanded changing area and showers."

So will these new restrooms be strategically placed near the beer stands? :) (If they sell beer).

I have to make my first trip to MIA this year.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

Old mine? Sounds like CP's mine from white water landing. It'll be a good addition though.

More 50's theming, too bad we didn't get a restaraunt like Coaster's

New restrooms are good. ;-)

But...did they make the track longer for the train?

A new 50's station for BeBop sounds good. And so do the restrooms!

It doesn't sound like it, I hope so though.

YAY! Restrooms!

More then 3 sets is definitely a welcome addition.

This post is not to start a war

But I wish six flags would notice improvemts like this that CF and others do

Adding bathrooms, heavens what a crime.

We SFA regulars would just love it if SFA added a restroom at the end of Gotham City.
In fairness to Six Flags...let me suggest a comparison...

Cedar Point has bathrooms everywhere, though many are small, dark places with wet floors and no hot water.

Most of the Six Flags parks have fewer bathrooms, but the few that there are tend to be large, air-conditioned, and with both hot and cold running water.

Oh, sure, there are exceptions to the rule (Geauga Lake, for instance, has the worst of both worlds...few crummy bathrooms). But it brings up a question as to which is better: More bathrooms, or nicer bathrooms?

More vs nicer... hmmmm
Depends ;)

Or you could just use some Depends on your visit. ;) I'm gonna stop there. ;)

I am certainly not a MiA *regular*, but the bathrooms that are ALREADY there certainly could have used a significant upgrade...air fresheners topped the list...

and Jim, if we had *Depends*, would we need restrooms at all....yes, we still would...:)

If only Cedar Fair had purchased MA one year later there would have been a Morgan Hyper.

I know..I know....Would of, Should of, Could of..Right?

You really shouldn't say Six Flags as a whole because at SFGAm i think there are plenty of bathrooms that are nice and big.

People scare me.

I processed my season pass vouchers the other day. They said that the big improvements were expansion of the shops as well. They need someway to capture more revenue besides attendance.

I dunno, Dave... I thought that SFWoA had a poor restroom situation when I visited in June 2002- then I went to SFNE in August and was shown what a really bad restroom situation is. Actually, SFNE was probably the most poorly-run park I had ever been to, and it wasn't even a weekend.

Hehehehe, guess who's back? MIA JON! (I couldn't log onto my old name for some reason so here's my new one!)

MiA improvements for 2003 huh? Can't wait to see them. I'm heading up there next week sometime to take some pics and hopefully talk to the park people. Does anyone have the hours the season pass office is open to validate my season pass?

Sorry for bringing this post up from the dead, but I just now got back onto CBuzz after my hybernation watching TTD grow...

FL *does* have that effect on people...it was *after* I moved here that I became "highly irregular"...;)
