MF cable lift

I noticed that when i was going up MF lift midway through it i felt a little jerk and it sped up. I was just curious if anyone else felt this and why does this happen.

Hmm yea, maybe that's because it's mechanical.

When the third train passes through the brakes and is in the station, the cable will move to its max speed. It usually happens around 1/2 to 3/4 the way up, but it can also be full speed the whole way up if the train is already in or 2 train operation. I think it really makes it exciting and is funny to see people get freaked out! :)

Yeah, it's fun seeing the people get freaked out.

As said it won't speed up until that 3rd train is off the brakes. When we are almost at the top and it hasn't sped up I always comment on it. Soon as I say that it sets up, the ride comes to a crawl, and the rollbacks drag. Then the people really get upset .

If your train is still moving a little when it stops on the lift that means it's just in a set up and it should resume shortly. If the train stops and the rollbacks catch that means you are in luck and may be there for a while

I love it when people freak out on that. Although I always forget about it when i'm on the ride.

What speed does it go before it speeds up? I know at the top speed it goes 13mph.

13mph - 15mph

The reason it speeds up is as stated above, when the block ahead is still occupied the train will slow down or "jog" on the lift to prevent the train from setting up. And then when the block ahead is clear the lift will go back to normal speed.

I love to hear people's reactions to it because you know who the first-timers are...you hear a shreek from the girls, and a "What the hell was that?!" from the guys...it's funny.

Thats exactly what me and my cousin said. "What the hell" i knew it wasn't really that scary and it was pretty funny seeing the other people freak out over it.

Sorry about the improper grammer that was previously here.

It is an awesome surprise for first time riders. It was a pleasant surprise the first time that I rode.

i knew it wasnt nuthin so it didnt really freak me out that much

"wasnt nuthin"? Ok, first let's translate to English. "Was not nothing". That means it was something.

Sorry, but there has been a LOT of poor language on CoasterBuzz of late. Part of the terms of service are that you agree to try to use proper grammar. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but frequently the only exposure we have to you IS your writing, and writing like that leaves a bad impression.

Agreed... people make mistakes, and I think we can all live with that, but lately some of this crap isn't even remotely something normal people can understand.

Sorry about that, i am so used to spelling it that way with instant messages it just follows me around. I'll try not to do it again.
