Metro animation now on Badnitrus

I'll tell you what, that video certainly makes Metro look awesome. From the pictures, it looks like a short, almost uninteresting layout... but on-ride? Fantastic.

Man, that is wild seeing an inverted coaster with box track. Something I am not used to. How many Intamin inverted coasters are there in existence today?

Other than Metro, I only know of two. Superman: Ultimate Escape (Six Flags Ohio) and Volcano: The Blast Coaster at Paramount's Kings Dominion.

It's rumoured Six Flags Great America will be getting a S:UE-type Intamin impulse coaster for '01. The local zoning board approved a "dual-spiked coaster" up to 180' I believe. (They also approved another coaster, but I forget what it's rumoured to be. A "super invertigo," I believe.)

Well, firstly Lynch... yes it WILL be an Intamin Impulse just like superman at SFO.

As for the Metro animation, it is sweet as usual. nice job Keith! =) The only problems I see is that the speed is a tiny bit off in a few spots and the dreaded "endless horizon" can be seen a few times ;-) That is just something that annoys me. Oh well

just adding Linear Gale in Japan to your list....

Theres a similar Intamin coaster in Madrid, i think its called Tornado. I tfeatures two loops, a corkscrew and a helix. The ride is reported to be very smooth and good, although a bit short.

Is the SFGAm coaster official? I hadn't heard...

As for the SFGAm stuff, NOTHING has actually been officially announced, but I know for a fact that the two coasters have been approved (SUE clone and super invertigo). So, unless the park for some reason decides not to build them, they will be there in 2001. As for Sky Whirl, it is sitting in the employee parking lot right now =(

Yep, we know there'll be two new coasters. However, I try not to believe things until they are officially confirmed. Though every sign points to an Intamin impulse coaster and a super invertigo, I won't call them official until the park does.

Well, the 'Bat' reference I meant in jest, Badnitrus. Anyway, the problem with the Bat is that finding pictures of the layout is extremely rare (since the ride was dismantled in 1983-84), and getting a good look at it is next to impossible.
