I work in a bio research lab, and use SI all the time, its great or this kind of work but in my "life" I prefer the standard old feet, inches, ect.
Plus hearing a coaster is 30 meters tall *sounds* small. 100 feet sounds bigger. Wouldnt it seem kinda wimpy saing im going on the huge 60 meter coaster instead of 200 feet? I say we start doing coaster measurements in inches, or cm ;)

While I speak both languages semi-fluently, (Ask me about grams per cubic inch some time) the metric system is simply more logical than the the English system.
As for conversions, there are far fewer to use in the metric system than in the English system. For example, a specific density of 1.0 is 1 gram per cubic centimeter or 1 kilogram per liter in the metric system.
Thats only wan the temp of the water is 32F or 0C

Anyway, I dont care how well the Bolts are playing, I have *no* faith in a Schotenhimer(sp) team. *He* sucks...PERIOD!

"Canadians are always dreaming up a lotta ways to ruin our lives. The metric system, for the love of God! Celsius! Neil Young!"
Canadian bacon is a hilarious movie.
2hostyl, We HAD a Schottenheimer (Brian) and I'm a German, so I can spell that....you just dislike Marty from what happened to YOUR hometown team...
I wouldn't have given Tomlinson the LT moniker *yet* either, but when ESPN decrees that "the label fits", even *I* don't have the authority to overrule Chris (Ethel Merman) Berman...in all honesty, the team that got THE running back they needed....the 'Phins (pheeling phun phesty)....Ricky IS Ricky, and any halfway decent offensive line will be PLENTY for him....
Phinally, the only things Canada REALLY should apologize for are Bryan Adams, and Ike Brozlovski...."cucamuga"...

LOL, Helios, I thought of Celine Dion...she DOES have the classic Canadian "flip-top head" that is exmplified by Ike....but thought I might get too much flak...so I left her off the list....she DOES belong...
Of course, Jersey (my birthplace) has Bon Jovi AND Bruce Springsteen......Queen Latifah IS the best music from Joisey....and that is SCARY!
