I know that there is a thread about the Mega-Whip from a while back but I couldn't find it. Anyways - the Mega-Whirl (by Gordon Rides and Larson) will be premiering this summer at Coney Island opening on Memorial Day weekend - I am very excited to finally try this.

Each car should come equipped with a barf bag dispenser, or else that ride is going to be down a lot. Looks like a fun concept, but I'm not sure if I could handle a cycle.
Pretty cool, I remember seeing the concept renderings on the Gordon Rides site a while back. I remember thinking it was the only practical concept on the site, too; the others I'm not convinced will ever see the light of day.
No hills? Wouldnt it be more fun with a couple of small hills and go faster?
My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
Surprising news. I am amusing the CAI got an exclusive on it. New Whalom talked to Larson about the ride and was told it would not be available for 2 more years. they also refused to make a traditional Oval whip version.

CAI did not get the ride - it is going on the lot in front of the Screamzone which is being billed as the "Brooklyn Festival New Steeplechase Park" - this is a private operator who has leased land from Thor Equities (ie the evil Joe Sitt).
That looks cool, and I'd ride it if I was over there and it wasn't too exorbitantly priced like the Jersey ride piers. I wouldn't make a special trip.
But is it me, or the video speed, or does this ride seem to move fairly slow for its type?
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
