Mears transportation in disney question?

Has anyone ever used Mears transportation at disney? If so, how is it?

We are going in about a week, but we are not renting a car. We are relying on taxi/shuttle services. We already booked Mears to pick us up and drop us off at the airport.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on getting transportation to universal studios to/from disney pop century resort? And how much it costs?

If I'm not mistaken, my family used Mears when we went to Disney in 98. It was very nice. We went to the resort on a coach bus. They had on a movie and the bus was very roomy. When we went back to the airport, we were in a 15 passenger van. It was very nice also. The driver was extremely friendly and knew a lot of Disney triva. The funny thing is that it took the same amount of time to get to Disney from the airport in Orlando as it did to get from Pittsburgh to Orlando, 2 and a half hours.

2 and a half hours to get to disney???

When I booked mears, the lady said aprox an hour to get there. I hope it dosent take 2 1/2 hours to get there, we are going to universal studios that day.(if we can find transportation there and back)

If the traffic is bad coming off the Bee Line then it can be a lengthy trip but never 2 1/2 hours. I've hit that junction at it's worst and it never took me more than an hour to get to Kissimmee, over by the Disney properties. I would be surprised it it even took an hour.

Certain victory.

Well, atleast that is what is it felt like. It probally was only an hour and a half. Oh, we had to make stops at other hotels before we got to ours, Cribbean Beach (very nice if I may add). Totally forgot about the other stops.

As for airport transfers, Mears is ok if you have less than two in your party and you don't mind waiting a bit to get to your property. You will probably have several other parties in your "van" and you will have to stop at their hotels too, so it can be a while to get to your hotel. If you have three or more in your party, take a cab to/from the airport, it will be the same price per person (or cheaper) and you will have a direct trip. I am not a big fan of Mears.

Does anyone know if you are supposed to have a voucher, or ticket to bourd the shuttle?

I have already paid for the shuttle, but havent recived any confertation #. Or do I just give them my name?

Well, if you don't give them a confirmation there might be a confrontation. Too bad Kongfrontation is gone from Universal but there is consolation in knowing that Men in Black is excellent and IOA is a comglomeration of excellent attractions.

Have a good trip. Congratulations!

Mears is a good choice if you have patience on your vacation. If I recall correctly, your travel agent should have given you both of your vouchers, but you still have to call and make a reservation for the night you're going to be taken back to the airport (24 hours in advance if I remember).

There is transportation from the Disney resorts to Universal, but I really don't remember how much it costs. You can probably get information and prices at the hotel. The only downside to this is that it runs on a set schedule, so you have to make your way out of the park, through CityWalk, and to the bus stop relatively early (i.e. you can't stay till closing). Good luck, and have a great trip!
