Maxing out Guests on rides

Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but I've had a strange error. Nothing fatal, but after creating a river ride and maxing out the number of boats, I watched the riders get on. However, after 200 riders were on, the count reset to 1.

Also, another problem I had was on the Intamin Giga. I had two stations set up, one to load and the other to unload. For some reason, riders were not getting off in the unload station and then riding through the loading station. Thus upsetting all of the guests waiting in line. Simply shutting down the ride twice removed the trains and therefore reset it.

Curious as to whether anyone else is experiencing these problems??

As far as rider count, that happend to me after I ran 12 trains on a massive monorail system. Though if memory serves me correctly, I think it reset after hitting 255, not 200.

No problems yet with intamins.

About the loading/unloading thing, did you have only an exit on your unloading station and only an entrance on your loading station? If not that should do the trick.:)
Yes, 255 seems to be the limit for a lot of things. This, amount of attractions in park, etc.

Makes sense that 255 would be a limit, for the same reason that 128 makes perfect sense to be the limit of attaction types available.

Moral of story - when designing massive rides, remember that limit and configure your ride vehicles appropriately. Hmm, I wonder if anyone has proven or disproven the 255 limit for a ride queue. If so you could know exactly how big of a queue you can build before it becomes excessive. I don't have the game available to me right now, but if we assume 5 guests can stand in a square, then you would know it would be futile to build a queue over 56 spaces long. (If 255 is indeed the limit)

If its true that you can only have 255 rides/shops/grab joints/etc in your park that may makes those ultra large maps not look so good.

Well, if you people are designing rides that max out the queues, you need to design more efficient rides(faster load and unload time, more blocks, etc)

-----------------
Don't Worry- Its ONLY 230 feet tall.

Keep in mind, 255 doesn't seem to be the "limit" per se. It is simply the number at which the counter resets. Once your 256th guest hops on board, the ride will say "1 guest on board." When he gets off, it will jump back to 255. So you can still feel free to design rides with massive capacity, it just might not display correctly.

Sorry this post is redundant, but using the word "limit" may have given the wrong idea.

MYTH BUSTER ALERT!

You can have more than 256 people queued up for a ride.

See the games section for a screenshot; the only one from CoasterDad64. It shows 278 people in the queue.

I cannot answer to the number of people on a ride.

Yah, I've had as much as 350 people in a queue.

Well, I had over 400 guests in line for an Intamin coaster!

Ive had 600+.. actually like 680. They love intamin hypers!

I had a screen of it, but it was on my old comp. Oh well. Some people here have seen it.

Yes, it is true. I posted a thread about it a while ago, but it got deleted. I assumed I accidently posted something that was already posted before, but I searched and nothing came up. Oh well.....

I have 680 something in line for an Intamin Giga. My park is going on 10 years and there is 3200 people in it. I guess next time I will design it to run 4 trains.

You must have a really low capacity if you have that many people in line. And let's not even get into your park rating.

About the Giga Coaster, I also have a problem with it when I have 2 stations. If the ride breaks down, my zoned mechanic walks right of to the exit and then walks away. even if I hire another mecanic and he gets called, hell do the same thing. I try to zone them to both stations, but that still doesn't work. Has anyone else had this same problem?

It has three nine car trains. My park rating is 999.

Well if the capacity's so good why do you have such a long que line?

Maybe because the intamin hypers on the game are very popular.

I've had 650 or so people in line for an intamin hyper that had 4 nine car trains. And my rating was also 999. I just built a massive queue line and it was very popular so it drew a huge line.

I have 3 entertainers, tv's, and lots of themeing around the queues. The peeps are actually not complaining too much. My park is 10 yrs old and if you play one that long any new big ride is a huge draw to guests right away. And as Nitro_ Rocks said, they are very popular rides.
