maXair closed for the season?

I have been looking at the webcam the past few weekends, and have not seen maXair with people on it, is this another ride down for the season at the Point? I am going the last day of operation, but it will be a real bummer if this ride is down as well.

I have no idea, but I didn't see anything on the website about it. You can always call the park directly.

I may go on closing day myself (depending) so I do hope it's running. If not, oh well. :-)

I just wonder how many people are going to stand in line for that *last* ride on White Water Landing. :-O

I was there on Saturday maXair was closed, just to confirm what you saw on the webcam.

I do not know why it is closed, nor do I know if its for the season.

It was down all weekend, but I believe it ran last weekend.

They will take it down for weather conditions, and that's what we assumed on Friday night since it rained all evening, but it was down Saturday nights and yesterday as well.

OMG!!11 Taer it down!!!111

I didn't miss out much, I went to Cedar Point and rode two rides. The Caddilac cars and Woodstock Express with the wife's little sister.

We were also entertained by Mr. Skull at the fright zone trail as well.

It was running on Sunday October 16th when I was there. Great Ride!

Kennywood Team Member Since 2003 Kennywood is CLOSED
It was closed when I went on last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Kind of disapointing. They said it was due to weather on Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday it was because of mechanical reasons. :(
It was closed yesterday. We were bummed.
From what they said, it'll be open next year.

I didn't see anything on the webpage about it being closed.

Now I thought this was interesting: There was a family from Michigan in line for admissions in front of us. They pitched a fit about MaxAir's status not being on the webpage, and how they drove 4 hours, and left their house at 7AM in the cold, and now little johnny (who wasn't even tall enough to ride it)was in tears, yadda yadda yadda. The cashier called a manager. The mgr came, quietly spoke to the father, and a family of 7 got into to CP for 100.00! I know this because i saw the guy count 5 twenties. Not bad...

I was at CP this past Friday and Saturday. We walked into the park at 6pm on Friday night and headed over to Max since Raptor was down. There were people on it...and mechanics had two of the 'floor doors' open...there were people in line....and we kept walking...only to find out WT was closed.

On Saturday...there were signs saying Maxair was closed. They weren't there on Friday...so something happened on Friday night.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Since they had a Dragster status page, now everyone is going to expect the webpage to keep updated status about every ride in the park. So, maXair was down, why not ride one of the 66 other rides or see one of the numerous shows that are offere?

I was actually there Friday night and MaxAir ran once with peeps on it (I was in line for the 2nd run), but when the 1st ride ended, the floor got stuck in the down position. The original riders we probably stuck on board for almost 30 minutes. Beginning Saturday and Sunday were the "MaxAir is closed today" signs.

That manager was TOO nice, sucks that it was closed, but get over it. I'm sure Cedar Point didn't want it to be closed...
I have got a question, since two of their major attractions are closed, espescially since im going on a friday this week does that mean that they can staff another ride for opening, considering i dont want to bum my cousin out already that both ttd and maxair are down, considering he wanted to ride both of them. Or do they just keep the same operation schedule for rides in the main area. Cause that already stinks that half the park is closed but this is the only time we can do it.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

This week they did not open any extra rides. And adding to the rain for ride closures, it was a mess. Cp already posts thier Friday night ride availablity and I doubt it would be changed for next weekend alone.

I'm sure CP was happy though this Friday even if most of the peeps were not -- tons of people were buying food and drinks trying to get warm and dry and just trying to have a pleasant evening with almost no rides open.

Well they are from Michigan, what else do you expect? They complain about everything ;)

As a season passholder I want a complete refund of my pass because maXair was down. I drove a whole 45 minutes in the pouring rain to get there and it was CLOSED!

What time on Friday night?

I noticed they were running Mantis which surprised me since it wasn't listed for Friday night.

We only rode Chaos and spent the rest of the time doing the haunt stuff, which was our primary purpose on Friday night. But regardless of it being a limited ride night in the first place, it was raining enough that many rides that would have been opened were closed due to the weather.

Wow! They sure seem to have a lot of stuff down at one time, I wonder if they can still say they have a 96% uptime.

But rides break, it's not like they wanted to not run them... like some parks we won't mention!
