Massive Fire at Mariner's Landing, Wilwood, NJ

I just heard about this from my dad, and did a quick search on one of the local news stations.

NBC10.com also has a report, but it's just as brief as CBS 10's report, with a very low res image to go along with the article. From what I could gather from the image though, being that you can see Great White in the background, it looks like it was on the south side of the pier, and towards the front as well.

Okay, Here ya go; I just got more info from Fox News that the fire started under the pier. Two trucks parked underneath the pier seemed to be the cause as they exploded causing the the fire to affect the Super Skooters bumper cars, and a Kiddie Flume.

Thank God it wasn't any worse then that, and a grat job to the firefighters for containing the fire.

It was on the north side of the pier. Looks like the bumper cars were lost, the Pirates of Wildwood dark ride was next to that, and Morey's main offices were nearby toward the boardwalk. There was also a kiddie flume ride between the bumpers and the offices. There were gas tanks stored under the pier, that's probably what the explosions were. I don't see the Great White, that's six blocks away, but the Sea Serpent's there, probably no damage to that.

Much as I love Wildwood and the piers and as sad as this is, they're solvent, they surely have insurance, it sounds like no one was hurt - all will be OK in the end.

It was a dumpster filled w/ cardboard that sat under the pier that caught fire.

It was Mariner's Landing, which is many blocks to the north of the Great White. The pier's offices were lost and two rides were damaged. There have been a lot of suspicious trash fires in Wildwood lately (one claimed a few stores on the boardwalk a few weeks ago) so it's possible this was arson.
