As the year draws to a close and 2014 pokes its head over the horizon, Harry Potter fans in Japan are finding it harder to contain their excitement over the summer opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Osaka. Fan photos on Twitter show how the progress is going, with an awesome train service and a near-complete replica of Hogwarts Castle that looks exactly like the one on film.

I love the forced perspective that's typical of Universal's Hogwarts. Once I was at the Orlando park before PotterLand was finished and while I was marveling at the castle from a short distance a worker on a hi-jacker went up the side of the building to do something with the windows. He looked like a giant or something- he was probably a story and a half tall.
Kinda ruined the magic, but it was also cool to see just how big (small?) the building really is.
