I know that CP bends the records for MF a bit. So why don't they say it is the steepest coaster in the USA? It is right? Because G5 and Oblivion are steeper, but they are in Japan and the UK. So couldn't they bend this one too? 11 records sounds pretty sweet.
CP doesn't "bend" their records, they are based on fact. Also, the steepness of MF is not included in one of the 10 records.

Ive said it before, 2 of the "records" are definately not records. First to top 300 and first to use elevator lift. CP uses these as their marketing scheme to make the park appeal to the GP. I just got my vacation guide to CP and all it did was yak about records. Even the ones that are now broken.

Just remember MF was first to top 90 mph. Hey theres another record.

the reason they dont say that it is the steepest coaster in the usa becasue it is not.Ultra Twister at six flags astroworld has a 9 ft. 87 degree drop therfor making it the steepest coaster in the USA.
Revolutionary, care to enlighten us as to which coaster DID break those records, then?

oblivion and G5 have an 87.5 degree drop beating it. There ya go.
Oh that is what I am looking for. Also, I know that CP's records are true, but like Revolutionary said, they aren't really records.
and a correction from before is that its a 90 foot drop not 9 ,my bad
Well Superman the Escape was the first to top 300 feet, though MF is the first complete circuit coaster to do the same.

BTW: IM(very)HO if it rides on rails and at any time is propelled only by gravity, it's a coaster!
Well can you name the first coaster to top 291ft? Or maybe the first to be called Millenium Force? They should add those to the records. Im sorry however I can not tell ya what coaster did break those records cause frankly they arent records.

BTW, anyone know which coaster has the greatest height clearance over another coaster?

millennium force is the first coaster to break 300ft. and use an elevator lift. those are very worthy records in my book.

I think some of you totally miss Revolutionary's point. By the logic given, it is also the first coaster to break 301 feet, 302 feet, 303 feet, etc. They aren't records. They are firsts. A record would be "Tallest circuit coaster" and may be held for a time period. (In MF's case, probably from May, 2000 to August or September, 2000) Different height categories do no warrant separate records. Can you imagine the size of the Guiness book if every centimeter defined a new record?
I agree the firsts (evelator lift) are impressive and certainly are worthy of recognition, but that doesn't make them records. Realize these "records" would not be in existence were it not for a clever CP marketing department. *** This post was edited by Camel on 6/12/2000. ***
Exactly.
