Marineland Vs PCW

LMAO....now that I've had the "opportunity" (all sarcasm intended) to ride another Volare....I can only wonder what on Earth parks are thinking about when they decide to buy those POS rides...

Lapbars are ideal, OTSRs much less so, but restraining riders by the THROAT??? :(

Absimilliard , Dragon Mountain is the only looping coaster in Canada that I know of having at least 2 tunnels. Plus, the bowtie inversion right out of the tunnel is a big thrill on this coaster. Another thing about this roller coaster is that it has the world's only bowtie inversion. Think about that. *** Edited 8/13/2005 2:39:13 AM UTC by denis12345***
The Mindbender in Edmonton is indoors, so it's like the whole thing is in a tunnel! Plus it has lots of loop-de-loops!

If Dragon Mountain had its theming finished, instead of a rusted skeleton of a volcano & non-existant recreation of Niagara Falls... then I think it'd be probably THE best steel looping coaster in the world because of the whole experience of the ride.

Right now, it's just an average looper with a nice double loop after the drop & tunnel drop to the bow-tie. The rest of the coaster is just so-so because of the "blah" area it's surrounded in.

Dragon Mountain is just a mine train with 4 loops... Let's hope a park in Canada build a larger coaster so they finally get rid of their false advertising!

Denis, did you at least look at what Mindbender looks like? It got 3 powerful loops with big drops and helixes.

I would have gone on the Mindbender, but the website said that it has a maximum height requirement.
The maximum height restriction is 6'5 for Mindbender? Are you taller than that? If you are... I can't understand how you fit on Dragon Mountain! Me, at 6'3, probably won't fit on Corkscrew at CP cause the harnesses won't be "pointed down enough" or will and break my back!

MarineLand wait lines are 3-10 minutes long.

you will get to ride those thrill machines at least 10 times in 1 day!

So after the first two hours in which I can get my 10 rides on each thrill machine, then what?

ML vs. PCW? I say go to Martin's Fantasy Island.

Yeah is Good!

Martin's is easily doable no matter what. A nice "on the way" park. :-)

"No matter what"? Hardly!

bill, has visited closed parks before... :)

MFI is *on the list* along with SeaBreeze....and I *will* go back to PCW on that trip, assuming border crossings go as smoothly... ;)

Thankfully you kept your mouth shut (for the most part.....lol.) Thanksfully the one guard was more interested in his lunch than checking our ID's or asking questions. ;-)

Martin's is very small, easily doable in a few hours. Seabreeze is.....well it and Marineland were VERY nice surprises on that trip.

I am 6,5 and for the coasters with maximum height requirements, the attendant always tells me that I am so close to not being allowed to ride because of my height. Regarding the Arrow loopers like Dragon Mountain, I actually felt comfortable while riding it. I rode that coaster many times and didn't break my back at all. It depends to what point you pull the harness down.
TOP GUN at PCW has a height restriction of i think 6''5 TOO.. u would smash your legs off the bars i think ur safe if you like 6''8 but the limit it to like 6''5 for safety reasons.. btw is an slc(n).. not like ur missing out on much.. but it is a fun ride in the front seat.
When you're tall, the La Ronde operators will insist on pinning you with the harnesses on the 2 coasters with them... Who cares you're tall or not, it needs to go down! They give you dirty look when you complain about that...

The parks are just over 2 hours away.

Two Hours! What route are you taking? When I last lived in Buffalo (last year) I worked in Niagara Falls, US and my then boyfriend (bastard dumps me a weak b4 x-mas ;(...)lived in Toronto- I could make it there in 1 hour, 20 minutes or less! Including dealing with Customs Officials on their little power trips!

We had season passes last year to PCW- but I do know that I saw discount coupons for the park EVERYWHERE we went.

And btw, the Canadian Midway and a few of the other attractions on "the hill" have some pretty kewl rides- including Fun House Express! You can buy a combo pass and get in like 8 attractions and mini-gulf for $20 CDN

I could never love an Arrow!
