Having been to the park decades ago, the property has much more of a Busch Gardens feel to it than a SeaWorld. I could see them building themed areas to the history and provinces of Canada, using Sesame Street, building a wilderness resort lodge, a wilderness/nature themed water park, etc. Basically BGV with a Canada overlay. I’d make the 5 hour drive for a quality experience like that.
A park that's like a land of the wonders of Canada ... what could they call it? :-)
Whatever happens, it does seem like a well-developed park ought to be a success in the Niagara Falls area, given the size of the tourism base.
I like the idea. It could be tourist area with a major theme park, like the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, or Branson, MI, for example. The theme park is not the major tourism draw, but it piggybacks off of what is already offered in the area.
Marineland was pretty insignificant, compared to other major theme parks. This could almost be like a new park from the ground up. It's always fun watch a new park being built.

Why though? Did they forget about Seaworld Ohio?
I don't see investing huge amounts of money into what is a glorified RCT2 scenario as something any big corporation would do. Especially since there are already many parks nearby. (Darien Lake, Fantasy Island, Seabreeze, and to a lesser extent Wonderland and Waldameer.) Also, with the abysmal animal welfare reputation Marineland has, (well deserved) combined with the reputation that Seaworld has (unfair, inaccurate, yet not going away) you'd think SW would steer as far away from this place as they can. SW would have to eliminate every single animal from the premises and not even allow migrating ducks to land in rain puddles in order to come out clean here.
That being said, I love Dragon Mountain so much and it would be a shame to lose this one of a kind rollercoaster.
I am skeptical as well that United is currently interested in this property. The evidence they are attributing in this video is the trademark filing in January 2024 that was approved in July.
I don't know how hard it is to file for a trademark, but my guess is that it is so cheap, that you might as well do it in any country you might ever find yourself doing business in. The fact that they applied for it 15 months ago and no news has come out of Marineland tells me this deal never was, or is now dead.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is probably more representative of what the park would (or could) be using that branding vs. our traditional thinking of a SeaWorld park. Personally, I am still interested in a BG overlay especially if ideas like Vikings, dragons/folklore, etc. could be used in the design.
