Marine World elephant euthanized after pregnancy complications

Officials at Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo announced that Tika, a popular 24-year-old African elephant, was humanely euthanized on Monday. The elephant experienced massive and untreatable internal infections from complications of the death of her fetus during labor six weeks ago.

Some of you don't get it. Some animals, like pets, show animals, etc., are animals that people have a bond to. Certainly you've had a pet before, right? If it suddenly died after a couple of years I'm sure you wouldn't be perfectly fine about it.
