Man falls from Chaos ride in Omaha

A South Dakota man was listed in fair condition one day after falling about 15 feet when a locking device restraining him came loose on the Chaos at the Fun Plex in Omaha.

OK, here's the tricky thing about the safety system. There is a light at the foot of each rider to tell if the T-Bar is closed and locked. Keep that in mind. What's supposed to happen is after all T-Bar's are down and locked, the op is supposed to flip the Lock Switch on the panel. But if the Op flips the switch before all restraints are down and locked, when an attendant does pull down the T-Bar, it may not lock correctly, causing the safety system and the light at the foot of the rider to come on, even if it's not closed and locked. So really, the Safety system has it's flaws also...
We don't have any Chaos rides in Texas. Sounds listraints ithas.ke a scary ride with the re

SFFT had theirs last year...and it was run FULL-BORE. :)

I can only get one or two rides at most, my shins get battered from trying SO hard to get those suckers to really FLIP. Sometimes you'll *catch a wave* and get multiple flips during a rotation...and that is what Chaos is *supposed* to be about - not trying to make sure you stay in the ride!

Well maybe this problem will get finally be fixed. Chance released 2 Service Bulletins for the T-Bars on Chaos. They also released a part for the T-Bar that will help with wear and tear. Maybe this could help end Chaos accidents.
