A man died at the new Universal theme park in Orlando after becoming unresponsive following a ride on Stardust Racers Wednesday night, the authorities said on Thursday. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany, M.D. with Orange and Osceola counties stated that an autopsy was performed on Thursday morning and the cause of death was “multiple blunt impact injuries.”
The cause of death was determined to be an accident.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
There goes the racing element. How the heck did people get stuff past the metal detectors?

The mention of "multiple" made me wonder if it was an object. If you were unconscious, the movements of the ride combined with you not being in control of your body/head could be nasty(?).
I guess there are layouts where the racing can introduce an element of risk, but from what I have seen from this ride, that seemed to be minimal?
I took a wallet to the face once on a coaster, which wasn't a racer - it came from several rows in front.

I'm not sure how anyone can read those 2 articles and immediately jump to the conclusion that it was caused by a flying loose object that another rider snuck past metal detectors or the racing element of the ride.
This sounds like being hit by a foreign object. Multiple blunt impact trauma as cause of death means the coroner believes that it was the primary cause. If it was a fainting, massive PE or aneurysm followed by blunt trauma from your body being tossed like a rag doll from being unconscious the cause of death would have still been syncope/massive PE/aneurysm. No something(s) stuck this man to start the chain of events that lead to his death. The way that law enforcement was taking pictures of the station like a crime scene also supports something striking this man. This is horrible. I’m assuming it was an item carried on by a guest, I sincerely hope it wasn’t a ride element that did this.

The primary cause of death is the primary cause of death. Multiple Blunt Trauma being the primary cause means that nothing wrong with the victim caused the trauma (if it had that would have been the primary cause of death) so somehow, someone riding a roller coaster experienced multiple blunt force traumas. There is only so many possibilities.

You're really playing to confirmation bias here. There's nothing in either article that implies that it was a flying object that hit the person, let alone a loose article from another rider.
Of course police were taking photos in the station. It's where the person was found when they were dead. That's just standard procedure for an investigation. It doesn't indicate anything about the cause of death.
People get struck by phones on rides all the time, a lot more than parks like to admit. While not ideal and not fun for the affected rider, they result in cuts and bruises, not massive trauma causing instantaneous death.
All avenues are open here, but the odds that someone snuck something past the metal detectors and it came out during the ride and it hit another rider so hard that it killed them are extremely small in my estimation.
Let's just wait for the investigation to provide updates before we take wild stabs in the dark.
And it would have to have hit him multiple times. How does one lost object hit the same person multiple times?
It doesn’t have to be from a guest but if it’s not, then it’s either from the ride (which it better not this thing is brand new) or the environment (bird.)

Is it not possible for the guest to ragdoll and strike their head on the train structure? I've not ridden this ride nor any comparable Macks so this is legit question. "Multiple strikes" and "accident" seem to point to this, and not flying objects.
Why would someone ragdoll if they were awake and alert? The coaster doesn’t violently push you forward (except at maybe the break run) and you have a seat back that curves to either side to cradle you from backward and side to side movement. It seems improbable you could ragdoll with such force for the first blow to knock you out.

Not sure how a limp body would respond in those restraints, you'd think that there would be a lot more movement than on something like Hulk, for example.

Looking at the layout of the ride, I don't see obvious places where a loose object from one train would intersect with the other. In fact, I believe that they were so thoughtful about this that they put up barriers where it would be possible. So yeah, that's an awful lot of guessing.
But suggesting that trauma is the cause seems like a guess as well. If in fact a limp body could flop around, and I'm skeptical of that, you need a time machine to know which came first, the trauma or something to cause the loss of body control.
Reverse POV shows a fairly deep seat, and many transitions look more "floaty" than aggressive. Seems inconclusive to me.

The seats are nearly identical to time traveler. I don’t remember being able to move around too much in them, the lap bar is quite thick and the backs curve in a way that restricts you more then it appears. Going through the dregs of Reddit it seems like a stupid tik tok challenge lately has been purposely flicking your shoes off mid ride. I certainly hope that wasn’t it, but if it was, then it wasn’t an accident, thats intentional, and the death was ruled accidental so it’s unlikely.

If someone lost their shoes on the ride and it killed someone it’s still an accident. With that said, This is going down a road of crazy speculation again. A shoe to the face isn’t going to kill someone.
