Man commissions backyard roller coaster, built by engineering student grandson

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Elliot Ryan, 20, attends St. Michael’s College in Vermont. In March, he was sent home because of COVID-19, so he went to stay with his grandparents, where he spent the rest of the summer. It was during the beginning of his stay that he decided to turn a dream into a reality: building a roller coaster.

A shuttle coaster with no airtime.
Sigh.

And it is guaranteed to valley every time.

I do like that he did this with his grandpa. I am sure the time spent together was amazing.

Sucks.

The capacity is going to be terrible.

They built it that way to sell fast pass.

Obviously no need for a hotel nearby.

Looks slow on the POV and the trims will kill it. Also, way too short.

I will say, maybe it's the way the camera is angled, but it goes pretty scarily close to the end.

And Michigan's Adventure still gets nothing.

New for 2025 at Dorney Park, backyard shuttle coaster experience!

Still a better red coaster than I-305.
