Mall of America formally announces Nickelodeon licensing

On Wednesday, the Mall of America's owners announced that SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Jimmy Neutron and other Nickelodeon characters will take the places formerly held by Peanuts and the Gang at Camp Snoopy. The 10-year licensing agreement with Nickelodeon, the children's cable TV network owned by media giant Viacom, could help dispel lingering doubts among some retail observers about whether the mall had lost its way, and could give it some extra momentum as it prepares to double in size.

So they DID announce its location as the northwest corner of the park...which confirms suspicions that the Mystery Mine Ride is toast.

I wonder where they're placing the drop tower? And the queue area?

Drop toweres have a tiny footprint, so it could go almost anywhere. But the queue area is going to take up a lot of space.

I hope they don't take out the dark ride, I have never been to moa and it is one of the rides I am looking forword to hitting once I do get there.

If by dark ride you mean Ghost Blasters...it won't be going anywhere. With any luck, they might upgrade it from its rather 'standard' package to something Nick-themed in the future.

A standard Gerstlauer EuroFighter 320+ takes about 200' x 125' square feet. I'm guessing Old Time Photos and Mystery Mine Ride are gone and the Child Care center will relocate to Stampede Steakhouse's former building.

Playa... the first half of your guess is correct. The child care center, however, closed permenantly on Feb 28th, well before the Mine Ride and Photos are scheduled to close, so as far as I know, there are no plans to relocate kids quest.
