Making of a Rollercoaster-Interesting Observation

Did anyone notice that when they had the segment about the safety harnesses used during Lightning Racer construction, they showed one worker walking the track with what appeared to be a cigarette in his mouth? I found that to be somewhat comical, because if the cigarette were to drop, the bent could start on fire, thus causing damage to the structure.

Welcome to Six Flags Great America, home of the fastlane and delay-ja vu! We have now officially been deemed the world-wide wait!
I didn't see it,Iguess I'll have to review the tape carefully, now that would be a hot one.

I always thought they used fire retardant on the wood these days.

On a different note, I thought the calibration yard was fascinating! I always wondered how they QA'd the pieces.

Yeeee Haaawwww!
I applaud Dorney landscapers for doing Talon's own landscaping themselves. Instead of old gravel like some parks do, they covered the entire ground beneath with wood chips. Very nice looking! But recently some yaya tossed a lit cigarette thru the fence and a small fire ensued.

I wish SFMM would put wood chips under their coasters, instead of gravel, cement, and weeds.

Or SFMW for that matter... ;)

Actually, SFMM as different levels of landscaping with their coasters. Desert for Viper, urban for Batman, woods for Ninja, Goldrusher, and Revolution, and not much for the rest. I don't know if "urban" qualifies as landscaping though.

PKI has nice landscaping underneath there coasters: Reptar has some nice grass, Beast has grass, SOB has dirt, Top Gun has trees/bushes, Face/Off has a parking lot, and Racer has gravel, and a path underneath it, just to name a few.

It's been a while for me, but I though smoking was banned in that section of the park. I'm probably wrong though.
