Major RCT Error! Help!

Okay, here is the problem: I uninstalled RCT about 2 months ago cause I finally got bored with it after 2 years, but then I got RCTsyndrome and I want it back. So I go to install the game again and it installs perfectly, then I got to play LL, and once it brings up the main screen, I get a message saying "Error: Exception Raised blah blah blah." And I then click okay and it shuts down my RCT. Unforunately, it did that every time I went to start the game. I had everything patched and all the goodies. I then uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times and it still comes up with the same message. Each time that I had uninstalled the game I made sure EVERY file associated with RCT was deleted. Can anyone please help me before I go RCTkrazy!

Try restarting your computer.

If you don't have the TRG Swiss Army Knife, download it... it's pretty easily accessible. While RCT is not running, start TRG, and click on the "clean config" tab. This should clear the game of the error.

Okay guys, I finally got it working. I had to upgarde to version 1.20.013 from 1.20.012. But the game lags a great deal and never has lagged before. I mean I have a P3 866MHz, 384MB SD Ram, 64MB Geforce 2 Video Card, Soundblaster Sound Card, and my system resources are about 80% free. What can I do to speed up gameplay, and when I mean the game lags, it worked better on my Pentium 133MHz computer than my current one. Any tips?

Maybe change the resolution to a lower setting? I have a P3 800 and it workes really well on the lower resolutions and creeps along at higher ones.

I had this EXACT same thing happen. I recently formatted my computer, and after I formatted it STILL does it, so I figure in my case it may be a corrupted CD or something. Or maybe its my video drivers or something???

Well guys, I have done absolutely nothing to the game since my last post on this topic and now the game runs better and I can have it run with the park full of about 2,000 guests, music on, resolution at 800*600 and it runs GREAT! I don't know why it started working so well, but I am happy.

This happened to me a while ago, and I did what everyone said to do, but it still didn't help my LL. I could use RCT and CF just fine, so I just said to hell with LL...

Just make sure when you reinstall LL(or any of the others) download the offical patch and install that before try to install the drexler patch and/or a trainer. It should clear up the problem. Anther thing to remember, you'll get that same error if you try to load a park that was been made with a trainer, if you don't have the drexler patch installed.

To sum things up, try uninstallin the game, delete all files, reboot, re install the game(s), download the offical patch off the offical website(rollercoastertycoon.com), and then see if it loads.(side note, if you're running the game in Windows XP, you would have to set the "Compatibility Mode" to windows 98/ME in order to play the game right)
