Major land clearing at Dorney

Yesterday I noticed some seroius space being cleared between Laser and Steel Force. The trees are all gone, the land is flat, and sticks are stuck in the ground. There was also clearing occuring around the back by SF brake run and the employee parking lot. If this is for one ride, it's gonna be a HEFTY one...
This was brought up last month. On my May 18 visit I had hopes of finding out some details of what is going on there and reporting back to Coasterbuzzers, but everyone I spoke with there was tight-lipped. Meaning they all said "I don't know" when asked what was going in there. Evidently you saw the results of surveying. Next up will be the footers...but for what? Time will tell unless someone can find out (or 'fesses up!)

Can you tell from the markers what it will be? If a coaster, what type etc?
All it is right now is a big spot of dirt. Two guys with ties wouldn't tell me anything either.
Is this space enough for a large building like a hotel, or maybe the size of Talon?

Gotta love those "guys with ties!" Wonder why they wear them anyway? Are they in some official, expert capacity? Were they young? Or greybeards like me? Don't waste your time with the young ones, but then the older ones won't say boo about construction either, as we know. Too bad for them, too, publicity sells tickets!

Not a huge hotel, but your typical rectangular Holiday Inn could fit in there. It was a little bigger than Talon, although I don't know if the part behind Steel Force's brake run is part of it. That part is still pretty high up and a bulldozer was doing it's thing.
Um...no Viper, why would they clear land for a coaster that already exists? Anyways, the clearing is big enough for either a compact ride or an extension of the nearby employee parking lot.

From what i heard a friend of mine who works in the park, its just going to be more parking. Is that great Goo Dorney Yeah add more parking what fun. Dorney sucks!
It's a parking lot! I even emailed Dorney about it and they said yes. Here is the email:

My email: I was at the park last week and noticed some construction in the dry lakebed
near Steel Force. It looks like you are building a parking lot, and I have
heard some other people say that it is going to be a parking lot. Is that
true? And why wouldn't you use the land for some more rides? I'd appreciate
it if you would respond. Thanks a bunch!

Response: Thank you for your question. We are in the process of building an additional parking lot near Steel Force. I will pass on your suggestion of using that area for future rides to General Management.

I think you could easily fit some sort of ride in there no problem, but a parking lot? What is up with that?

Dorney Park is da bomb!
I read on Thrillride.com that the major land clearing between Steel Force and Laser was going to be a parking lot...

Maybe the parking lot is the first phase for park expansion. I'm guessing if it's going to be for parking it will be for employees. With the staff parking there they would have al that room behind Steel Force for more rides. The only down fall is the steep incline of the current lot.

Hello, My name is Dan and I'm a coasterholic.
Why do I have this suspicion that if this is in fact for a parking lot, after the lot is in people will STILL be debating just what they are going to add there.
