If Coasterbuzz could support a Hot Takes thread we'd already have one.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Shades:
Just need a Gonchback reference to make it complete.
I'm really trying to dig up an old post where I compared riding Nitro to being gently nuzzled into a recliner or mother's arms or some **** like that (a Gonchback of a hot take - you're welcome), but my powers are weak this afternoon.
I gotta lay off the weed.
I'm adding it to my list of insults. Fantastic work Raven-Phile.
My hot take is pretty predictable. Fast Lane creates a terrible experience for those who do not, or can not, get it.
I just got back from a few days at Cedar Point. The wait time for MF on Sunday said 45 minutes, but it took almost two hours. Fast Lane users were getting in line so frequently that the attendant let in about one stand by guest for every Fast Lane guest. The short stand by line moved like we were all standing in a pool of molasses.
Another hot take? MF is still one of the best rides in the park, only second to SV.
Yet another hot take? Maverick is overrated. If the line is longer than a half-hour, and it usually is, it is not worth the wait.
Can I say anything else more shocking?

And was it serving food with tattoos? (Not sure if anyone remembers that one.)

1) Yup. Absolutely. That's why I joined the dark side and pay Disney money for the Cedar Fair experience with All Season FL. I'm done being miserable at parks and CP is too crowded to not use FL. I only live 30 minutes away and I straight up wouldn't even go if I didn't have it. I'd tell anyone who was going "for a few days" to budget for it for one day and use that day to hit all the big rides.
2) MF is still the best ride at CP. SV is second.
3) Big time. It's too fast, it's under-engineered, and you have to "ride defensively." I'll ride it, but only if the Fast Lane is 10 min or less and I can throw molasses at the people in the Standby queue.
1). I agree on fast lane. My general opinion of it is that it is a good idea, and I’m glad they offer it. However, I think it needs to be limited to about 20% of the ride’s capacity. 20% is what I estimate to be about the highest it can be before the apparent wait time (i.e. from this point) starts to become significantly longer. It should only reach 50% of the ride’s capacity if it’s a crowded day, lots of fastlanes are sold, and the ride has significant downtime (weather, mechanical)
2). Agree Millennium and Steel Vengeance are the best two in the park. Magnum in a close third.
3). Agree on Maverick. It’s a good ride, but I can’t really justify waiting longer for Maverick when Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance are better rides.

This is the only hot take.
