Major construction at SFWOA

If you haven't gotten to the park in the last month or so, do it now, other wise you are going to miss you last chance to walk over Geauga Lake Road to get into the park. Yes, ol' GL Road is geting redirected next year. When you hop on Villian, take a gander behind the employee parking lot to the right of you. A nice, long strip of land has been cleared for this new Road they are building.

The new GL Road redirection will begin to the right of the employee lot (across from the mainteniance building (theres a curve in the road there) and it will let out somewhere near the new Kohls.

Keep your eyes open to the area with the Six Flagpoles in front of the park as well (on the Rides side) there are some nice orange markings that are forming a "circle" pattern on the ground, Im assuming that could be a new entrance area or something along those lines.

No signs for the proposed coaster yet.

Yep, it will be kind of nice and less annoying now. Rumor floating around the park is that the orange markers are for a drop off area for trams and vans the park is and will be using.

Most people only talk about the Wild Rides side but don't realize that BOTH entrances you have to cross the road to get in.

I don't see SFWoA building a new entrance on the Wild Rides side since they just spent all that money rebuilding and enhancing this one (which is very nice as is.

I do Wish they would close WR parking lot down though and use PART of it for some type or expansion or Season Pass and Handicap parking though. WL side parking is A LOT bigger and better equipped for large crowds.

I don't think that they will close down the wild rides side parking anytime soon until they get more rides into the life side..thats unfortunatly the main thing people come there for anyway.

WOW, you can really tell how much attention is being paid to Cedar Point these days - anything that states "major construction" as a topic title usually gets at least some attention.....

Well it's just a road...

Well, I am surprised that this didn't recieve the attention so far I thought it deserved. There are just other things going on now that are more interesting.

Personally, I find this "very Interesting"

I really hope Six Flags let them build that thing, because honestly, I got a little sick of WoA this year. If they don't get it atleast get some good employees like Jes, lol.

This is very interesting and I'm glad I asked about everything that was happening on Sunday to make sure I got some pictures before the change. If the park could get all the rides operating with maximum trains running, keep the wooden coasters maintained(I sure hope the RWB retracking works out!), etc. and add a major ride on the Wildlife side (preferably a liquid coaster), it could easily be the best park in northern Ohio.

I do wish more people would come though, because I really don't like walk-on rides that much. Waiting in line a little with fast loading actually increases the greatness of my experience. I like the people around and empty midways aren't fun at all. I don't find it amusing to just coaster hop and ride a coaster alone, because it just isn't fulfilling to the park atmosphere.

I agree Koaster King, one of the reasons I like the big parks like Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm is because they are always packed. To me, I get depressed to see a park empty. Thus was the case many 'o nights at Six Flags.

I'm really enthusiastic about this park, but even more so 8 or so years down the line. This new entrance is just one of the many "to-do's" that can now be checked off. I'm glad Six Flags is realizing that even these small things can increase your attendance, in the form of repeat visitors.

I like it when parks are packed.... on every day except when I'm there. Sorry, but I'm a ride hog. If my wife and I were the only 2 there, I'd be thrilled.

It can be fun to be at parks when they have a big crowd. One of my best trips to Cedar Point was this year's coastermania and it was fairly crowded. On the other hand, everytime I've been to SFWoA this year its been pretty empty and those trips were a lot of fun too.

As for the new road, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out and how the GP responds to it.

Sorry, I forgot the "do not bring up Cedar Point" rule. Quit whining.

I don't think the GP will notice the road being gone all that much. But it will at least free a security officer from traffic duty so they can go stop kids from breaking trash cans, benches and light poles.

If they do John, I'm sure they can get a higher power to pick up the kids with giant tweezers and drop em in the lake. ;)
