Maintaining High Park Ratings

Hi all, this is my first post, I am new to CoasterBuzz & I am rather new to RCT2 - maybe I have played for 20 hours thus far. I am wondering what the key elements are to keeping a high park rating. Any and all input would be appreciated.

have loads of toilets, food stalls and drink stalls. clean up all sick as soon as it appears (its best to set patrol areas for handymen), and just keep an eye on your guest thoughts to see what they want improved. hope that helps!

I agree with laurence, but not too many stalls. You'd run out of space for rides (255 limit on attractions).

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

The key is to keep your park clean. Your park rating will follow.

Thanks for the responses.... all of the input is helpful. I am trying to find the right mix of # of handymen (due to cost of employing them) relative to the # of guests in park. Or should I just put in a large # of handymen and not worry about the cost (setting the appropriate patrol areas ofcourse.) Also, any opinions on the need for security.... to prevent vandalism. I have been replacing broken items such as benches and trash cans as I notice them, and have been able to maintain rating around 800 or so, however once the guest count gets to 1200-1500 my rating really seem to tank. Thanks again.

I think there is no ratio of handymen to guests. Instead, I just set patrol zones, and limit them to either 6 or 9 squares, depending on how much money is avalible and how much I expect to come in. If you do it right, you souldn't even need security guards, because the patrol paths will be small enough for the handymen that they clean everything up before guests get mad at the puke, therefore they don't break anything.

Make sure there are rides to cater to the guest's general preferance (high/low intensity) and indoor/ coverded rides so they don't get mad while it's raining. Plus what everyone else here said so far. :)

No coasters within a 60 mile radius! Boo hoo :(

What always works for me when I have a low park rating is to find all the guests that want to leave the park, then I place them at the park enterance, when they leave, my rating shoots up!

The only time my park rating ever falls is if a handyman gets lost/trapped/confused and a section of path becomes dirty. Other than that I never have a problem with rating. Make sure to build all types of rides and keep the park very clean. Mild scenery (a few statues and flowers) seems to help too.

Check this scenario I just upload out - it's very crowded, but the park rating is still 991. You'll even find people complaining about the crowds (and needing to go to the bathroom) Open the file and look at the park rating graph - It never drops below 930 and those dips are when I had a handyman get confused or lost on a pathway (stupid AI) and the pathways got very messy. I simply found the problem and moved the handyman back into place.

Shouldn't be too hard to keep park rating up.

TrBiggar- I usually limit mine to 3 or 4! If I go higher it seems like the handymen take too long or get lost. But then again my paths are squeaky clean because of this.

In addition to the great tips listed above:

- Go to the "guests" tab at the top of the screen, and then select "all guests combined" and then "thoughts". Read what's listed and correct the problems. Not enough bathrooms or nowhere to eat/drink? Easy enough to fix. Your park is too messy/vandalized? Hire more groundskeepers. Try to pinpoint the messy spot and drop one there. "I've been in line for " " for ages? Shorten the queue, add TVs, hire an entertainer and limit his mobility to that line, or do all three. And grab all the miscreants who want to go home and place them right at the front gate.

I generally let groundskeepers and mechanics roam free without zones, and I add them gradually during the game. I add them on a 2 to 1 ratio, IE 2 sweepers for every one mechanic. I make adds to staff with the completion of every large ride, or every two small rides. As long as you keep your park maintenance up, and provide a range of rides for all tastes, you won't need security at all.

I also like to look around the park in between big rides and make sure all benches and trashcans are not broken.
