Magnum XL-200

Since I have not been on this coaster (but will this summer) and it was built by Arrow has it gotten rough and beats you around like most Arrow steels after years of operation? Or did Arrow perfect this one? If they did, than CP got lucky. (Note: if you havent been on B&M coaster Raging Bull and are going to this summer you will experience the smoothest coaster ever created. It is so smooth it is unbelievable!!!
The MXL is smooth but it does hurt your legs on the cammel backs but you dont even notice until you exit the ride

Magnum was, in my opinion, a good "mistake" by Arrow. A really good mistake. I personally feel that while Arrow Development pioneered the steel tubular-track coaster, Arrow Dynamics in the last few decades has not adapted the technology to suit larger coasters, especially the loopers. Look at all of the compaints about Steel Phantom at Kennywood (R.I.P.), Viper at SFMM, Drachenfire at BGW, etc. Most of their rides are trimmed heavily as a band-aid to compensate for design flaws.

Magnum is an exception to the rule. It remains one of the best coasters on the planet. It's a little rough in the turns, but that's a problem with virtually all Arrow coasters. The rest of it is pretty smooth.

The neat thing about Magnum is that it pops you big time on the bunny hills heading back. It hurt like crazy the first year because the lapbars were not padded. For the best air, ride in the ejector seat: third seat of the first car.

and i plan on riding that ejector seat for the rest of my life!!!!
I've never had a bad seat on the Magnum. Front to last it preforms. For comparisons sake, the third seat of the Gemini is horribly rough (i think). And that's an Arrow.
Well last year being the first year I ever rode Magnum I thought it was smooth. However it was a little rough in the last seat back car, but everywhere else was good.

I don't even know what they're talking about. I don't think it's rough. I think it's great. I must be too young to know if a coasters rough or not becuase the only one I think is rough is Mean Streak. (And I like the roughness). Oh yeah, and Mantis can be kinda brutal towards the end if your not holding on tight through some of the turns.

I think there are two things people call roughness. There's rough as in bumpy and there's quick changes in direction, which I think a lot of people interpret as rough.

Magnum's roughness is restricted to the turns in the pretzel and the turn away from the beach, for the reasons I mentioned.

I give Magnum two thumbs up. It rates a ten with me and I don't find it rough at all. But then again, "different strokes for different folks".
I just wish it wouldn't Break down so much.
I have no problems with roughness on any ride not Mantis, Magnum, or Meanstreak.
Magnum will always be my favorite.. even if it gets to the point of the Wolverine Wildcat at Michigan's Adventure last year. Every ride amazes me to this date, and I've been riding it for 11years. Some come and some go.. but there will always be a place in my heart for the Magnum!

Magnum is great! I have to agree with Jeff about the turns though. That is the only part that feels rough to me. When going through the pretzel.
