Magic Mountain Six Flags...Help Please

Yeah, car is definitly the best way to go. Enterprise ussually has some great deals. The drive however is pretty simple.

From where you are, go South on Beverly Drive, which i believe is a right out of the hotel, and it runs into Pico Blvd. Make a left on Pico, drive for a mile and make a right on La Cienega Blvd. You'll be going South for about a mile, and you wanna get on the 10 West. From here the rest is freeways. Get on to the North 405 for 20 miles, To the North 5 for 11 miles. Get off @ Magic Mountain Parkway, make a left when you get off the freeway, and keep going straight, you'll pass under the 5 bridge, see a Wendy's on the left, and keep going. You'll go up a big hill that curves right, and you'll soon see X and be on your way to a delightfull day at the Mountain.

And if your going on the weekend, get tickets online... and if you can't, you might wanna get there an hour before the park opens because sometimes ticket lines are long, and so are the x-ray machines. Most importantly, Enjoy your day at Six Flags.

Ah crap, sorry, you got to it before me.

No offense to longhairedspaz, but your directions - while accurate - are not what I would recommend. I work and live in that area and have suggested the best route based on weekday and weekend traffic.

Any suggested routes for San Diego to Huntington Beach to Valencia?

PEOPLE!!!! Dont get off on Magic Mountain Parkway!!!! LOL. its closed!!!!!!!!! Wrong directions people, wrong directions.
Eh, I always drove through Hollywood and got on the 101, but what Moosh told you are the best directions from your area. I lived a bunch closer to the 101 than to 405...

YES the exit to MM Parkway is closed, BUT there are at least two other exits that are well marked and will take you where you need to go.

Heh, and another minor, minor update to Moosh's excellent directions, there is no 405 north ramp directly off of Pico. Right before you get to the 405 bridge over Pico, you'll turn right on a street called Cotner (just after Sepulveda). The ramp will be about halfway down the block on the left.

That's it :)

Tom is correct but it's very well marked, which is why I did not include it in my directions. I tried to keep the directions simple, unlike Yahoo Maps or Mapquest, which over-explain to the point of being confusing sometimes.

Whaddya mean Moosh....it's IMPORTANT to know that I'll be on the on-ramp (or off-ramp) for a total of .03 miles...;)

Mapquest....YMMNV! :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

You may want to check out Dollar Rental Car. I used them when I was there...had unlimited mileage and was very inexpensive. And the car was mint and it was close to the airport. If you're flying in they have shuttles to take you there.

You can find inexpensive hotels and cars there. There are some great things to see. And the drive around the city is pretty interesting/fun. I'd go there again in a second!

Meh, fair 'nuff, and it is pretty well marked.

I'm a big fan of pretty verbose directions myself, so he can take his pick :)

You don't have much of a choice.

SD - HB: I-5 North to I-405 North. FYI, there is a bypass toll road [71] that cuts off a few miles through Orange County and should have less traffic, if you don't mind spending a little money. You leave I-5 near Mission Viejo and join I-405 near Newport Beach.

HB-SFMM: I-405 North, I-5 North, exit MM Parkway [or follow signs if that exit is still closed].

Thanks, Moosh. Don't know what I would do without CoasterBuzz.
