Oddly, Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced on their website homepage that their new-for-2010 Mr. Six's DanceCoaster (originally slated for a Memorial Day Weekend opening) is now postponed indefinitely until the 2011 season. They do not state why.
Real interested as to why. Although it's a relocated children's coaster, I don't think we've ever seen a park announce the postponement of a new attraction (struggling to get a buggy prototype to work, aside).
I'm going to speculate...could be one of many reasons:
1. Issues with permit acquisition from the State of California. (Likely)
2. Mix up of the board and Shapiro's departure shifted plans or funding for the ride. (Unlikely)
3. Delays resulting from unexpected problems with the construction location/site/land. (Likely)
4. Ride involved in case regarding Six Flags dismantling SFNO attractions without court-approval/permission. (Semi-likely)

Indefinitely? ...Until 2011? Which is it?
Dollywood postponed their new 2010 attraction. (The incredibly fun) Adventure Mountain was supposed to be opened for the 2009 season, but they held it over for a year, due to the economy.

I heard from 2 different people that it was more of a financial decision. Neither person elaborated, so I don't know if they just decided next year would be better for the budget, or if maybe they're going to roll it in to a bigger expansion?
Either way, can't say many people will be really disappointed, especially since the ride is going in in 2011.
Here's my theory at this point.
SF has already made it clear that '11 is a big year - 50 years for the chain, and *everyone* is getting something for the anniversary. This way, SFMM already has their new-for-'11 ride without additional expenditure. Saves SF the cost of yet another new product for a park that's already got too many coasters (in relation to the pitiful flat-ride options).
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
That could very well be it, Gator. I'd like to see them do a new section with some family flats and the family coaster. Why don't parks do what SFoT did that one year and add 10 new flats? That would give SFMM a nice boost to get a family ride package, even if they just get a few Zamperla favorites. At least they'd have more than just coasters.

Is it an Intamin. Maybe the cars don't fit.
LMAO! :)
Exactly what I was thinking! :)
At least there are plenty other coasters to ride in the park, not like they only have a couple to choose from. I did notice when I was riding TS a couple weeks ago track was still sitting in the lot back there, Im assuming thats MSDC tracks?

TS? See, I didn't even know we had cyber-names for all the coasters at Magic Mountain, especially rides less than a year old (i.e. Terminator...I guess "TS" is what the cool kids call it...)
It's funny that I honestly had to stop, scratch my head, and think through all seventeen of SFMM's coaster to find out what was being referenced there, Raptor. Maybe that's a sign that this coaster isn't much news if it's built this season or the next. My best guess is that the 2011will see more substantial project/area renovation that will include Mr. Six's Dance Coaster, or MSDC, as the cool kids like to call it... ;)
I thought it was the Rollerskater from SFKK.
If so, It's probable they cannot get the coaster removed from KK
