Magic Mountain construction photos online

WestCoaster has the latest photos from Magic Mountain as they've begun the process of building their next big coaster. Rumors are still swirling about the possibility of it being an Arrow 4th Dimension coaster, but that remains to be seen. Clearing is taking place at the front of the park next to Viper and also in Psyclone's queue for a possible second 2001 coaster.

This park is serious about keeping us thrilled over the next few years. Where as most parks would sit on a new large coaster for a few years, SFMM is already on to the next. I wonder where in the world they are getting the money for this...

SOMETHING IS COMING!!!
In 2001 a new *beast* will rise at SFMM.

Wood will not happen at The Mountain any time soon, take that to the bank. You are correct, terrapin flyer, it would be good.

So you want a coaster in your backyard? I hope you have a big backyard.
And the thing is, that looks like such a great area for a wood coaster.

Well, in answer to your question Simcoaster, it's rumored that SFMW was gonna get another coaster this year, but SFMM had such a good year as far as attendance and profits that they decided to pull the funds from SFMW and build something new at SFMM. Personally I wanted something big to come to SFMW since it's one of my home parks, but I really don't mind the six hour drive from my hometown to SFMM for something new! I can't wait! :)

What about SFO? I know that they already have 4 new coasters, but could we see something for 2001 or 2002? I've been there and they have a lot of room behind Raging Wolf Bobs.
SFO doesn't really have much land behind the Wolf Bobs. That park is pretty much backed up to Sea World and Depot Road.

Wheren't they supposed to buy Sea World from Anhiser Bush?

I took a good walk behind Wolf Bobs, and I think they could pull a Giovanola Hyper-Twister off. It would be tight, but it can be done. The only stuff that would come down is a maintainence office and a small shack. They are re-routing GEAUGA LAKE ROAD, anyway.

I know Sea World may be up for sale... don't know if anyone is looking into it.
Even if they did decide to buy Sea World from Busch Entertainment. I am not sure that they would combine the two parks into one. That would create a park that is about the same acreage as Cedar Point, but only about half as wide. That would be a very long park and very long trip around the lake. If they did buy Sea World I figured that they would keep them as two separate parks and provide package deals similar to those at Disney and restart running the ferry across the lake.
