Magic Mountain construction continues to roll along as X develops

Posted | Contributed by xbombman

More X cars have been moved on-site, as the ride gets closer to its first test run.

ThrillShot has opened, and the current price is $18 for two "shots." I experienced the ride today, and think it is well worth the money. I tried Absolutely Insane and High Dive, and liked Absolutely Insane the best. Another great addition to the park.

Deja Vu was not testing yet again today. Work was being conducted near the pathway to Psyclone, so Psyclone was closed.

Is the structre complete ?
It looks like it.
The Structure has been complete for months. They even started testing months ago. Thats when the problems arised. The cable lift/catch system didnt lift/catch as expected. Thus, the motor lift/catch system was redesigned, removed, and replaced. Testing part2 comming soon.
The trains for X are awesome. I got in trouble at work for sitting in one of the seats and putting the OSTR on! I have a pics of it too! Coming soon to the site below!

After my ride on the Cornball Express, and the extended wait for this thing. I'm not nearly as excited about riding it as I was a half a year ago. I think I'm more excited about my upcoming company trip (my idea thank you very much!) to Knott's and the venerable (even though it's only a couple years old) Ghostrider.

I must admit this it makes an already impressive skyline even more impressive.

Yeeee Haaawwww!
Please feel free to yell at me about this one, but I need an answer regardless. When SFMM announced that it was going to now be the "Xtreme Park" they stated that they would have the most coasters in one park, anywhere! Does this count now, or when the coasters actually open? If so, my count shows they are still behind Cedar Point. If they don't get this deja vu problem fixed soon, they really will be playing catch up as the point is planning to recover/keep their record in 2002!
I think SFMM is worried much more about getting these rides open than they are about CP...

And I think CP is worried much more about attendance then they are about catching up to SFMM...

Jeff,

Thanks for your response. You are right as usual. One final question here and i will drag my dumb*** over to another site. What is the deal with the speedpass system that they are putting into Magic Mountain. Will all rides get it? What will the cost be? Is it just like fastpass?
Its called FastLane and it costs $15 dollars for 4 people on one ride, 2 people on 2 rides, or 1 person on 4 rides. It applies to all of the major coasters and water rides.

Chernabog:

Thanks for clearing that up for me about Mr. Freeze. I knew that SFOT and SFStLouis each got one, and I thought that the 3rd was Mr. Freeze. Now that you mention Batman and Robin: The Chiller at SFGAdv, that was the one that I thought was also a Mr. Freeze.

Again, thanks for pointing out my mistake.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
how could magic mountain actually afford to build 4 new rides in i year?

(x,deja-vu,thrill shot, and goliath j.r)

X should have more inversions for example a Cobra Roll Vertical Loops and Hat Tops

And it should be taller and more fast and the seats should spin more.

Ive seen a prototype of x it doesnt spin many times
X should be one of the most xtreme coasters in the world dont u people think?
Goliath lover i really really agree with u u are a geniuse.
goliath lover,

I can't explain to you how Magic Mountain has enough money to build 4 rides in one year (I assume they have some savings). However, I doubt they will have to worry about paying for 4 rides this year, with two still yet to open. While X will probably be paid for soon, I doubt Vekoma will be getting a check prior to Fiscal Year 2002!
X is a sweet coaster that I'll love to ride!
It's Like a free fall but only better!
I hope they make more coasters like X and X-Flight
in Six Flags Great Adventure!!!!!!!!!!
