Mad/Wild Mouse

I couldn't find a post on this here so i'll go ahead and ask. What is the difference between a Herschell Wild Mouse and Herschell Mad Mouse? I was researching A park called The Enchanted Forest and they had a Mad mouse that went to Little Amerricka. Sauzers Kiddie Land that was in Schereville says they had a Wild Mouse.

According to rcdb, the Allan Herschell Company produced three mouse models - Mad, Mite, and Monster, as well as the Little Dipper(s) of various sizes.

The search features will allow you to get specs and examples of each model if you find one of his rides and then click the "All Models" link....not sure how to get around that, as Advanced Search/Models tab seems tricky/non-functional.

Wild Mouse is the generic term for a type of coaster (ie inverted, shuttle, kiddie, etc)

There were three models of Mice from Herschell: the Mad Mouse, the Monster Mouse and the Mite Mouse (according to RCDB, the Sauzer Park was also a Mad Mouse coaster).

Most of the original Mice coasters referred to as Wild Mouse were usually from Schiff or Miler.

Cool. That link explains most all things Mad Mouse. Thanks, Jim. Oh yeah, you're the JimVid that has the site about The Enchanted Forest right?

Your post about mad mouse coasters had me wondering about a coaster I rode a few years back at the Ionia free fair, so I went to RCDB, and looked it up. I found a very similar coaster in my search, and I am sure it was a Mite Mouse, only at the fair it was called Mighty Mouse.

The cars were a bit different though, more like the cars on the Whizzer at SFGAM, only 4 passenger cars, instead of 6. It was a fun little coaster with all kinds of dropping turns and speed bumps. But, it was also very old, and it shook a lot.

It had lots of head choppers for adults. My friend was 6'2", so they would not let him ride it. I'm only 5'5" so I can get on almost anything. My friend said it looked like a mechanical death trap. But, I really liked it, it was fun to see lots of the kids coming back to the loading platform laying down in the seat. If they made more of this crazy layout in a larger coaster for the parks, I think people would love it!
